I love the GoPro comments. Gopro is mainly for POV this is not - it’s for taking photos of others - something that GoPro sucks at unless you’re super close to the object... that can be scary AF in some cases in the water. So all in all good price for a waterproof zoom camera.

I'm a panasonic fanboy and i'd go for the gopro over this. image will be better and it's a lot smaller.

It's not an 'action camera'. Comparing it to a GoPro is missing the point. It is just a tough, waterproof compact camera. It is designed to be handheld, not mounted onto something. So probably better for photos, not just video. It has a viewfinder, and a lot more buttons etc than a GoPro.

Not the best of quality to be honest. I tried one and ended up selling it after a couple weeks. If you're spending that kind of money you'd be aswell buying a second hand GoPro. That's my opinion anyway.

It’s the Hero HD from 2018 that can be flashed into a Hero 5 Black. Can it be turned into a 7? I wish! But correct me if I’m wrong!

7 blacks are really good, the silver and white are terribad. Actually 7 black and the gopro subscription thing have actualyl turned the companies fortunes around now

I hears Hero 7s are shi*te altogether... I've had then in the past and still have my Hero3 Black which is great. People aren't happy now and Go Pro are losing credibility.

You would be far better off buying a refurbished hero5 black off ebay from the gopro reseller for same money much more camera for your money or try to find a cheap hero 2018 , the 7 white and silver are terrible cameras for what you get or rather dont get compared to older models

Saw this today and thought it was a good deal. Only 4 left but I believe this camera has a sony sensor and uses a sunplus 6350 chipset that does have image stabilization. A cut above camera's at this price normally. What with the £3 topcashback cashback and bonus nectar points could be good deal bringing it down close to £20 for a high quality full featured 1080p 60fps camera that should perform better than this GoPro HERO+ camera in many areas and does allow use of an external microphone too. This is a premium action camera that I guess is old stock at clearance price. Designed to compete with gopro headon (at the time) and if anything better made and designed. It has a touch screen, full camera control. A professional camera with a lot of manual control if you need it. The image stabilization will be good enough for many tasks but will not compare to that offered on the latest gopro cameras. Hard to think of another camera close to this price with image stabilization and a sony sensor. As there are only 4 I decided against doing it's own thread but thought anyone interested interested in one might be checking out this thread. Does 120 and 240fps in lower resolutions too. I have the Pro version of that. It freezes on startup sometimes and build quality is lacking but it's fine for commuting and general use. The 1080p quality is well below that of the Hero 2018 though.

I think I ordered the last one but it still shows one in stock.

Purchased this yesterday, been on charge all yesterday afternoon and only got to 2 bars, tried all night charge and still the same, charge light will not go out, and 2 bars max, also records sound very quiet out of case so wants in its waterproof case no audio gats recorded. Shame as did not want anything special just something that worked. Picture below shows battery after another 6 hour charge, have tried 2 different chargers now.

It’s not bad for the money; fine for my son to use while on his scooter or bike. The biggest gripe is that it will not work with higher capacity SD cards.

Upgrade what? I don't own any digital camera. I regret buying some vtech camera some time ago for little ones . Eat three AA batteries per single use so I threw it away.

I used this page on Reddit for details. Cheers OP. Up to £55, but got £10 off for being a first time app user. My Gopro died after 4 years as a helmet cam. On back order but should arrive by the end of the month.
