    Apple refurbs are like a brand new item, they are refurbished to a very good standard. New housing, battery and screen etc. if giving as a present it does say ‘refurbished’ on the box to make you aware

    There's very little difference between the series 5 & 8. The series 9 again doesn't look all that different to be honest. Buying the latest Apple Watch is a complete waste of money as far as I'm concerned. This seems like a good price from Apple direct. But if you can pick up a series 6 or 7 for around £200 then that would be much better bang for your buck

    A little tip for those that don’t know, but I didn’t realise, you can get a lot more hours out of your battery by turning off the always on feature!

    I don't really understand this fixation on battery life. Yes it would be great if it last 3 days, 3 months or whatever but if you don't need sleep tracking (like me and I imagine lots of people) you just put it on charge overnight by the bed while you sleep. Problem solved!

    The only time I've come close to running out in a day with my Series 5 SS is if I've used GPS for golf/cycling.

    These are great if you don’t mind them getting bashed up, my year old series 7 is quite scratched after moderate use whereas my mrs steel version still looks brand new.

    You can buy plastic cases for them that cover the whole watch, my series 4 still looks brand new and do lots of running cycling, bashed a far few door frames with it as well

    yes but it is as good as new , apple replace all the bad parts with brand new and comes in new accessories with standard 12 months warranty

    So my iphone 14 pro and airpods are lighting charge so if I got the s8 watch I would need to use a usb c cable and swap them around from my 20w charger plug or buy another charger plug and have two wires just for charging up apple products. How annoying.

    Not really as I’m guessing the other end of your lightning cable is a usb type c, the series 8 cable that you plug in is also a type c. You will have to carry 2 cables regardless because the Watch uses it’s own magnetic charger

    Off topic but has anyone tried using Apple watches with an Android phone? Is it possible?

    It's actually on topic. I've bought 2 watches and I have an old iPhone 5s and I was planning to pair them with it. Doesn't work as it also needs minimum ios 16 and max version of that phone os 15. I've got another old iPhone lying around, I think its 8 and that should be able to pair with them. Apparently you only need an iPhone to set up the watch, after that you can use it. If this doesn't work, I'll send them back, not a fan of iPhones myself. (edited)

    my watch 8 will be a year old next week and still holds charge for almost 24 hours with rough use. Heat for the price

    Ordered yesterday and just arrived - packaged like new, mint condition and battery health 100%. If it wasn't sold as refurbed I would think it was new. Coming from a series 3, first Impression is the screen is soo much nicer! Awesome deal

    You’re welcome pal, I also order the 45mm and had delivery earlier today. Cannot distinguish from new. Paid the extra £70 over the SE for the bigger screen

    Got mine today the 41mm. I would not know it was a refurb. No scratches or marks on any part. Looked brand new. Battery health 100%. Happy with the price and deal. Was going to get the 7 but made sense to pick up a newer series direct from apple.

    Mine arrived yesterday. Pristine condition. When I look at this refurb compared my ‘excellent’ refurb from Loop Mobile a few months ago, there’s a world of difference. Needless to say, the Loop one was sent back immediately. Thanks OP 🏽

    Had mine today ordered the 45mm watch but it came with the strap for a 41mm. 
    no major issue. They are replacing in the next couple of days.
