Seems like a good deal for a front/rear set - my dashcam has already saved me twice in one rear end and one smack in a parking lot! For the 422GW I have a polarising filter on mine and it makes a good difference in the day time to the video picture. I imagine the 32GB SD Card included would be more than suitable too.

I’ve had a 522 hard wired into my GLC, it’s a joke. The app is woeful, and it’s started just shutting down half way through a drive without a sound, and is so hot to the touch I can’t take it off the mount. Pro install, had voltages checked. The other day it declared all recordings from there on would be labelled as five years ago, and switched off gps time sync! Never again. I’m not alone. The back camera res is garbage to what I’ve seen on others such as thinkware. (edited)
Get something like a viofo 2k one with super capacitor for £100 or less.

The 422GW bundle does, not the 222x.
The key ask is this any good?
Author
The 422GW is really good, i have both front and back installed for my work car and the quality is very good. With the filter and SD Card makes it quiet a good price id say.
The 222x i cant comment on but im sure there will be example footage on YouTube! As a make Nextbase are very reputable anyway.
Off topic, sorry Can anyone recommend any fixing solutions to get these to stick to the front windscreen please. Every double sided adhesive I've used has not lasted that long, especially in the heat.... 😔
Thank you 😁
amzn.eu/d/2…8ho I use this stuff, held fine this year. The supplied pad that comes with the 222x kept failing and setting off my car alarm
Avoid Nextbase The app is dreadfully and customer support is non existent. Check out the reviews on the app store!
Nextbase are very good dashcams
I won’t buy nextbase products again, have had 2 dash cams in the past and both overheated and burnt 🥵 out . Only use Blackvue dash cams now really good, a bit pricey but worth it
Good dashcams until the batteries fail, always buy one with a super capacitor in them.
Says refurbished when I go to the link... Is that correct?
That's correct, maybe it should be mentioned in the heading.
The key to them working ok is 1)having a new or decent battery in them 2)healthy fast enough sd card 3)good uninterupted power supply to them 4)keep out of the sun they get hot(I know not practible when you want parking mode on).
I was given a used 322gw and was an unreilable headache until I sorted those few things out. If you want one just plug and play I would look elsewhere, (maybe a capcitor model) they are a but temperamental.
Used Viofo capacitor model for years, excellent cams.
hi OP- ref polarising filter - can you suggest one pls - one you currently use
Crazy question perhaps but maybe someone knows the answer?
Instead of hardwiring these into a battery can you charge it and use the lighter socket while driving, then connect to a large capacity power-bank when parked? Just a thought as I don't want to drain my battery at all and would rather use a powerbank. The 422 comes with a usb cable.
Last question, I have a BMW1 series and the review is narrow... would the 222 model with the rear facing camera on the front camera manage to see out the back? I'm also guessing if you have rear passengers this model rear camera could be blocked by people sitting in the back?
As regard to the 222x the rear camera plugs into the side of the front camera but there is 2 types of rear camera 1 that is good for recording rear seat passengers for example an Uber/taxi driver and the one I have which has a longer focus range that looks through the rear screen which has the model number NBDVR222XRFCZ that is the one you want if you want to record incase someone rear ends you as it picks up the number plates of the vehicle behind. Hope this helps.
Nextbase are good cams but really depend on a decent SD card.
They need at least a Class 10 U3 to work properly.
