Update 1
£1 cheaper now under clearance.
Looks ok for a budget runaround.

The Roam has all of the best parts of a mountain and road bike. So, it's perfect for a commute to work and a leisurely cycle when work is finished. It's built around a high tensile steel frame making it both strong and responsive. It has alloy rims and V type brakes to help you stop quickly and city-style 700Ctyres. Plus, 6 speed power gears so you can always choose the right power. Oh and a comfort saddle - for comfort, obviously.
The gears can be easily changed with the twistgrip gear lever without having to take your hands off the handlebars. Which means you can always get the help you need whether you're going up or downhill.
The narrow sectiontyreswith smoother tread pattern make riding so much easier. You'll want to find more reasons to get out and about on your bike

Frame size is the important measurement. The measurement you see on bikes (ie 24", 60cm etc) is the distance from the middle of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube. This is why, for a decent fit, you need your inside leg measurement. Halfords have a chart here: halfords.com/bik…tml

This should give a good enough fit for a casual cyclist who has fairly typical proportions. What I mean by that is, I have unusually long legs and a short torso, so getting a decent fit is a bit trickier. You can pay to have a bike fit at some bike shops if you think you'll be spending a long time in the saddle - they'll take lots more measurements into account to make sure the bike fits you. (edited)

Nice simple cheap bike. Also probably ideal for a front hub motor ebike conversion. Always factor in a bike from Argos is just a boxed bike you have to setup yourself. So you need to do the final assembly and all safety checks. You'll need tools, grease and oil to do a good job of it.

I know you get what you pay for but the reviews for this have put me right off. As a novice I wouldn't know where to start...I guess if you have experience in bike mechanics then bargain. So not voting.
