Nintendo switch OLED console Vs non OLED

Santa is getting my 7 (almost 8 ) year old a Nintendo switch for Christmas. There is about a £50 difference between the OLED & non OLED Version. Is the extra £50 spend worth it?

You also have double the storage which often doesn’t get mentioned either.

Indeed it is worth it! The viewable screen is bigger than the non-oled, the colours on the oled are so much better whereas the non-oled is a lcd screen and looks a little washed out...i got a oled and sold the non-oled straight away... (edited)

An extra £50 doesn't matter to Santa, he buys loads of toys, elves can't keep up with demand these days

    OLED is far better

No brainer & the resale value will be higher if & when you decide to sell it.

Not that it will be much of a difference if you have it for years. Given the option everyone will choose the OLED over the other if they can afford the difference.

    Definitely OLED one

In my opinion it is only worth it if you or anyone else old enough to appreciate the OLED screen is going to play it in handheld. If only the 7/8 year old is going to play it then I would say that it isn’t worth the extra. (edited)

OLED for sure if you are going to use it in handheld mode at all. If it's just going to be stuck in the dock 100% of the time, then you could get the regular Switch, as the performance is the same for both versions.
