Buying a New XBox Series X from eBay, is it a good idea?

Xbox series X is out of stock on amazon (unless i buy a bundle), and they are much cheaper on ebay.

Loads of people with hundreds of reviews with 100% positive feedback are selling them at around £400 instead of the usual £450 mark.

Something tells me that there's a catch. Maybe I wont get the 12 month warranty? to be clear, all listings mention that it is brand new and sealed, but no mentions of warranty.

Anyone got any thoughts on this? Thanks, and wish you a wonderful weekend.

I think they maybe buying cheap gift cards online then buying the console from microsoft, they won't be making much profit though

I'll google how to use my 300k bing points towards this.

Prob won’t get the warranty unless a original purchase receipt is included. The warranty irregardless may show on your Microsoft account device list once Xbox is set up, but Xbox won’t honour the warranty without a purchase receipt

Thanks mate, this is what makes me hesitant to buy from an unknown seller

I 'preordered' my Series S from a small business and with one of the ebay 20% off and making an offer I got it for about £165, this was early last year when the best deal was still about £225. I had to wait almost a month for it, once I signed in with my microsoft account it appeared and showed remaining warranty etc. (about 10 months presumable due to the supply chain).

Really helpful mate, thanks. I want to avoid something like this, I'd prefer a full 12 month warranty.

Have you asked these questions to the sellers? Are they private individuals or traders etc

Good point. there are a lot of sellers so i haven't done anything yet.
I'm pretty sure I saw at least a few sellers with "ltd" or "traders" etc.
I'll send them a few msgs. thanks

Xbox series X is out of stock on amazon

It's in stock for the console only at £479.99? And the bundles are the same price and cheaper than the new RRP

It came in stock literally after I made this post! It was out of stock at 449.99 at the time of me posting.

Checking on camelcamelcamel, the Xbox has never been sold at 479.99, so now I refuse to pay that!

That's a great idea. Plus I have about 300k Microsoft points, just don't know how to use them!

    Did you get your xbox

If you haven't got one yet you should definitely use those bing /reward points to purchase microsoft gift cards and redeem them towards your xbox in conjunction with some microsoft gift cards from cdkeys. It will take a huge chunk of money from the total value.

You could always buy amazon gift cards with those points too but they are not worth as much compared to microsoft gift cards.

300,000 points is around £250/£275 in microsoft gift cards more or less off the top of my head.

And if you have got yourself an xbox, I hope you're enjoying it (edited)
