Faulty Xiaomi 13t pro refund

I have purchased the Xiaomi 13t pro a couple week's ago. Unfortunately the phone was faulty as it was some humidity under the main sensor so I sent it back for replacement. Unfortunately I have received an email saying they don't have a stock availability and I will get a refund.
I'm not happy as they're asking to send the Xiaomi pad 6 tablet which I sold it. To they have the right not to send me the refund.
At the end of the day it's not my fault they can't do replacement.
Any thoughts

Looks like the pad came free as part of the deal of buying the phone so of course they can ask for it back. As you're returning the phone for whatever reason, you are no longer entitled to the free pad.

They could just charge you the cost of the pad and take that cost out of your refund. (edited)

Did you expect them to just forget about the pad

Just tell them you've given the pad as a gift to a relative and can't really ask for it back and see what they say.

Retailer not stated, but if not direct Xiaomi you could investigate repair (replacement?) options under manu warranty and if viable request return of the handset from the retailer and go the manu route.

Only problem when getting a phone with a gift once phones broke the whole offer breaks down

How about showing them a screenshot of how much you sold the pad for & ask them to refund the difference?

I know you don't "win" on the deal but it puts you back to the position you were before the deal. If they have no replacement phone, they have no replacement phone.

Oh my goodness what a horrible situation I'd never considered this could happen from there being a "free gift" with phone. It seems really wrong that this can enable them to effectively forfeit their warranty obligations ?

They've offered a refund, obligation has been met
