LGW airport liquid restriction

Hello
I recall seeing on the news earlier this year that the 100ml liquid restriction has been lifted.
Can confirm this is correct as I will be flying from London Gatwick airport later this week.

I believe only London City Airport will have the new type scanning machines,2025 at least before other airports get them

Asking or confirming? Of course nothing has changed at Gatwick. When it does happen it'll be all over the news.

Well spotted, good attention to detail.

Are you an English teacher by profession by any chance?

One would assume it should be a national rule, but it certainly wasn't live in Bournemouth.
It is a stupid rule, because you are allowed a max of 1 litre per person. It wouldn't take more than a couple of people's allowance mixed in the toilet to cause an inconvenience.
To argue that you could not get the chemicals onboard without attracting attention is to credit airline security with more time and resources than they have. I have arrived at a holiday destination only to find my work knife at the bottom of my bag. Undetected.

Ridiculous rule anyway. Any terrorist is clever enough to distribute flammable materials etc into ten 100ml containers (edited)

At least the likes of WH Smiths and co have probably made a fortune selling bottled water. Must be more than the price of petrol

Only London city airport for now. All other airports will start lifting the limit from June 2024 (edited)

I thought they had to implement it by middle of next year
