iPads and all that nonsense

So my daughter wants an iPad , mostly for art , but probably Roblox etc.
As I'm not an apple fanboy, I see there's so many different versions, generations etc...... no idea what is what.
So basically, what's the best VALUE one I should go for??
And what about the iPad pencils, are there any cheaper ones that work well??
Is there ever any black Friday deals?

2021 one will be fine. Costs around £300. I tend to hate on Apple quite a bit but performance wise it's really good for the price. Get a cheapy pencil though because the Apple ones are hella overpriced.

Bear in mind that some crowds use the iPad name to refer to all tablets so before you inflict apple compatibility headaches on yourself make sure she's actually wants to run iOS-exclusive software and isn't just after a tablet generally.

Best value is their base model. If you need a larger screen then price rises. Pencils, there are third-party models for about half the price, but mileage may vary. You can always try with a cheap, compatible stylus for a couple of quid before splashing out. (edited)
