sorted byYou don't need to spend 1000's though. Ebay's full of 2nd hand tables and generally nice ones go for around £500-600, but there's bargains to be had too for £300 or so if you're patient and keep looking.
You have to be careful, but they dismantle easily (English, not American) and 2 or preferably 3 strong people can move it in a medium size van, which can be hired for less than £100.
And the other great things about slate tables bought 2nd hand is that unless abused, they'll hold their 2nd hand value and not depreciate any further, so if you buy wisely, you'll always be able to get your money back if and when you choose to sell it on.
