How long does it take to check that a returned phone is working?

I've sent 2 items back to Amazon. A phone and a case to it. Both in one box. I know it's only been 2 weeks since I sent it and they received it a week ago but the case was already refunded last week and if that's the case they have the phone too but I got no confirmation of that let alone the refund. I know that most returned items come one in a box but I was able to put 2 inside one this time and both were under the same QR-code. Customer service is useless. They said I have to wait a month before they can do anything but judging what happened last time, even though I contacted them every day they kept saying I should wait a month but when I got there they said I should've contacted them earlier because they can't do anything now. So it might be the same case here. They said that the only reason the case was already refunded is because electronics take longer to be checked but then how long do you actually need to check that a phone is working? It definitely doesn't take a week to do that especially when you already opened the package with both the phone and the case which confirms you have both. From the looks of it it's like I returned the case, they refunded it, case closed but that that's not the case at all.

Best not to buy anything of value from Amazon now. Customer service has gone from being among the best to obnoxiously awful.

    Send an email to managingdirector@Amazon.co.uk

I'd have returned them using two QR codes as two items in one box is asking for problems. They refund low value items as soon as the QR code is scanned at the PO. Expensive items can take a month, even longer if you didn't take the gift card option and everyone still shops on Amazon...

People moan about Amazon on here. But I have had only positive dealings with them.

You don't have much luck do you

No wonder they are leaving the refund until returns have properly inspected the return

the old saying of buy from amazon and return if you don't like it or there is a problem as it is far easier than doing so with other retailers no longer applies. i have noticed a significant change in amazon's attitude recently. i think they must have new management as they tend to drag their feet now and play hard ball.

some people are still reporting a quick return process but i am hearing other people with different experience. i had the same problem with a bike lock, it took them a week to refund the money from receiving it and there isn't much to test on the lock as the key wouldn't turn, that takes no more than a second!

i would give them 2 weeks to test the phone and then raise questions. a month is just outrageous for a return. it could be that they send the phone off to a third party to test and don't actually test it in house, hence the long delay.

i would wanted to do the return in two separate transactions as then you know which one is the one dealt with and they themselves will know which item is in question.

did they not give you the option to return the two items separately?

To be fair, whilst it might only take a second to test that lock I don't imagine someone is sitting at their desk eagerly awaiting your return and can jump on it as soon as it arrives, it's probably at the bottom of a big pile of other returns given (a) how much dodgy crap they sell and (b) the number of people who use the easy returns as a try before you buy service

I'm currently waiting on a refund for my old u/s Xbox series s. It'll be 2 weeks this coming Friday. This post is worrying as I kinda hoped for my refund by black Friday etc to hope the prices drops a little.

Should have used 2 qr codes. Can't blame them yet, as you are at fault. So chasing it up takes time.

I don't quite see how that's my fault. If they allow me to send back 10 items under the same QR-code then it's their fault for not refunding all together as sent.
