    Would not recommend buying this.

    Conclusion

The Asometech 67W USB-A+C GaN Charger is a slim and inexpensive product that fails to meet expectations. With dubious certifications, I found the unit was relatively easy to break apart. Despite its 67W claim, the USB-C PD data suggests it only advertises 60W. Even then, under testing, it couldn’t even maintain 65W for more than eight minutes with its long-term sustained output on USB-C only reaching about 30W. In fact, under testing, the USB-A port did meet the 45W capability and fared better than the USB-C. Overall efficiency fell short of expectations, achieving 79% to 89% peak efficiency depending on voltage output, resulting in the charger reaching a toasty 80 degrees C externally during testing. This is not good for lifetime, nor safety. Nevertheless, ripple on the USB-C port was poor under no load/lower voltages, although the USB-A port was better. On the upside, insulation resistance and standby power tests had good results, with no permanent damage through the whole test sequence.

Perhaps some people could be “fooled” by the charger’s short-time capabilities, but in reality, this is not the compact charger you’d want if you’re after 67W capability.

Someone who created this review has no clue how PD and PPS works. They complained about the charger not holding 65W for more than 8min. For example OnePlus 10 Pro has battery capacity of approx 19Wh, and it can take 65W of charge, so that for 8min will be 8.6Wh which is 45% of the battery capacity. That's absolutely right, none of chargers or phones/tablets charge at full speed(power) all the time. Have a look on graph from Samsung or Xiaomi/Huawei chargers, they charge at full power for first 5-10min and then gradually reduce power to save battery. That's why fast charge is only "fast" when your battery is at about 10-20% when you start charging, so battery can take high voltage and current. If your battery is at arox 50% won't charge that fast.

Why are these new customer Aliexpress deals allowed to be posted? Even for the tiny fraction of the audience who don’t have Aliexpress accounts, there are probably better things to use your new customer bonus on

I got one before Christmas and I am happy for what I paid which was about £9. Seems to charge my power station at 60W or more continuously and so far it has been good. Seems well made and certainly does not feel cheap. In summary I have no regrets and have ordered another for a family member.

That being said, I would never leave anything like this plugged in and go out of the house.

Can I ask, did you buy from aliexpress, or did you get it from a more reputable store so you know it's genuine and not a cheap knockoff?

I will never understand why people who pay 100's of £ for their phone/tablet/laptop and than looking to save a few £'s on the charger and risk to blow all up.

Have the fire brigade reported many cases of this sort of thing happening?

£6.72 for me! do i need to add a code?

No code is needed. You have a weird price. If you are a new/returning buyer then it's much cheaper. If you are existing then it's more expensive.
