Names on flight tickets

Hiya,

Need help deciding...

So I bought some cheap wizzair flight tickets for a long weekend away with the family. Was doing it quite quickly as the flight prices had anyway changed once whilst I was buying so didn't think when I input my dad's name incorrectly.

He usually goes by his middle name 'Daniel' as his first name so input that instead of his actual first name 'James' on his passport (so basically swapped his middle name and first name so it reads Daniel James instead of James Daniel). All other information is correct eg date of birth, passport no., spelling of names etc on his passport the fields are correct.


Do you think that will be an issue? Has anyone had any experience of this before?

Do you think I should shell out and pay for another ticket? That seems to be cheaper than paying to change the name

    I wouldn’t worry it’s wizzair. The flight prob be cancelled anyway!

    Wizz Air Call Centre should be able to correct it for you, you get one free name change per booking if it's a mistake.

    Yeah they would normally allow for an honest mistake like that.

    If you were changing it from Daniel James to Tracey Smith, that would be a name change that you would be charged for.

    Never had a problem with this. The surname and date of birth are critical fields.

    Thanks all for your helpful feedback. I messaged on their live chat function to get the name change for free.

    Didn't see the option available on my booking. But yeah the process was super quick and got an email with the updated name in under 5 mins.
