The man up top yapping away about crime and violence and all sorts, give it rest man. Did somebody hurt you feelings whilst you were there? Bredren go and drink two Red Stripe and settle your nerves. Bless

Yes got out a car in Ocha Rios in a car park behind a store and was held up at gunpoint by a drug crazed lunatic who suddenly appeared from nowhere and wanted to rob me, fortunately my driver had a bigger gun and it was all sorted very quickly, had I not had a minder then things could have been deadly, so yes it wasn't very pleasant as unfortunately I wasn't armed.

I have seen the country go down hill over the years, very sad, even bigger gaps between wealthy and very very poor, and I mean very desperatley poor, it's a sad situation and is getting worse weekly with less and less tourists going now due to the threat level increase warning do not travel there. Will be back there in a couple of days and see first hand what's going on now, NEVER let your guard down! (edited)

Can recommend the Hilton Rose Hall in MB, had a good stay there. The pool with a lazy river and two water slides is good and a little beach. Cuts out the long drive to Negril or Ocho.

We then got a Taxi to Magic Mountain and Scotchies on two separate days to get out of the complex

I'm going to be there and flying out Saturday, not looking forward to it at all as the place is a total mess, well even bigger mess than normal, after the storms last week, check YouTube before you end up there! Ocha Rios just up the coast was hammered as well and a massive cruise ship smashed up wrecking the dock it was attached to, it had to leave 2,000 passengers abandoned in the port with no food or water and one toilet for 12hrs to try and get shelter off shore, the crazy thing is that it actually stayed there an extra day apparently to MISS the storm!

    Montego Bay!

Ocha Rios! I would keep well away, no wonder they are giving the flights away!

Don’t go then… Jamaica is a beautiful country, even in Hurricane season. If you want to find negative news and reasons not to go anywhere, if you search hard enough you’ll find them! If you really wish you weren’t going - it’s simple, don’t go. No need to scare monger those who may want to experience it!

I stayed in Negril in September all inclusive and had a great time. I miss that pool bar and the rum and ginger ale.

So many characters in and out of the resort we all had a laugh. (edited)
