  • TURN 1 SOCKET INTO 10: This clever extension tower will convert one of your single plug socket/mains outlet into 10 individual sockets enabling you to plug in up to 10 different low powered devices at the same time. This is really useful for when there are not enough plug sockets in your room and is perfect for low powered items. Due to its compact profile, the ST10B is ideal for entertainment set-ups or computer desks or anywhere that needs power to be distributed to several electrical devices
  • SURGE PROTECTION: If there is a power surge with your electricity it can cause damage to whatever appliance you have plugged in at that time. For peace of mind, this ST10B power adapter has been engineered to protect against electrical surges and spikes ensuring ultimate safety and keeping your valuable devices untouched. Unlike some surge leads, we have engineered this model to let you know that the surge shield is on in the form of a green light. When it’s on, your devices are protected.
  • SPACE SAVING TOWER: Extension leads can be unsightly, often sprawled across a floor with wires coming out in all directions. With an extension tower like the ST10B you can tidy your cable set up and create an organised and safer space. The base of the tower is detachable, so if you want to convert to a horizontal extension gang then you can do so. This model features diagonally angled plug sockets which allow space for larger plugs alongside each other.
  • SAFETY TIP: Always be cautious about what you are plugging into electrical sockets. Like many extension leads, the ST10B can take up to 3000W. We strongly advise that you check each appliance you want to plug into it, to ensure the total wattage doesn’t exceed 3000W. We do not recommend that high wattage appliances be plugged into this adapter, items like washing machines, kettles, hair dryers – for safety reasons all of these should be plugged directly into a wall socket, not an adapter.
  • FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS: We have designed and built this adapter to last. It is lightweight but durable, ideal for anywhere in the home or office. It is not for outdoor use. The internal components offer surge protection for all of your low powered devices, such as phones, lamps, computers, tablets. This extension lead will hold 10 UK 3-pin plugs. It is fitted with a British Standard 3-pin plug. The power cable length is 2M. Size with stand: Height 39cm, Width: 5cm. Depth of stand: 14cm.

Great that the sockets are angled, too often overlooked and a pain when they're not.

A slight negative imo is that it's only rated up to 3000W especially considering up to 10 appliances can be plugged in at the same time.

Yes I know you aren't supposed to use extension leads for high wattage appliances but you wouldn't have to with 10 sockets. Even the 3 or 4 socket leads seem to be rated to 3250W, just something to bare in mind.

Voted hot though as great price for what you're getting. (edited)

3000w divided by 230 volts is 13 amps, the largest fuse you should install in a UK plug.

Let's say you go for the old 240v standard. At 3250 watts that's still 13.5 amps which would pop the fuse.

It's not that they're unable to rate theirs higher; electrical engineering and safety says they can't. I'd be interested to know how those others are advertised as being higher.

The basic problem with these is how feeble the brass strips forming the pin contacts are. As the sockets aren't individually switched, there's almost certainty that users AREN'T going to switch off at the wall before plugging something in. If the thing that they are plugging in has a switch-mode power supply - there will be inrush current (generally) and there will be a flash. That will rapidly damage the brass strips- making the flashes bigger.

So, if you want to preserve the life of these sockets - leave things plugged in. In which case, they will last for years. These are ideal for behind the telly, out of sight and out of mind. Ideally with a plug in "alexa" socket adapter, so you can switch the whole lot off in one go, even set a timer routing - so if you forget, it will still switch everything off long after you have gone to bed.

Hence the mixed reviews - If you are often plugging in and unplugging wall warts - you'll hate it in no time. If its powering your computer, printer, router, external network drives, wifi net hub, amplifier, disc player, etc and never go near it - you will love it.

How? I've 3, bought my girlfriend 1 - zero problems. About a fiver for a cheap and nasty from the discount stores... This is solid, safe and a good price.

The one star reviews are very worrying. Should items like this be shared on HUKD?

    Agree completely.

Still going strong, use it daily and it was £9.99 back then. (edited)

There’s a video on there reviewing it where it’s melted inside!!
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
There are also 3 different photos from different people of screws missing from the plug that goes into the wall, so I would be taking the plug apart to see before I even thought about using it.

Just to note, to get it at £8.49 you have to select dispatched from Duronic not FBA. It's free delivery but it doesn't count towards Amazon's free delivery minimum spend if buying other items that are sent by Amazon.

These come with the shorter cables. I have a couple of same Duronic extension leads with 2m cable which I bought in 2019. Anyway this is the cheapest I have seen. (edited)

I need one to mount for the wall. Anyone got any recommendations?
    Cheeky_Chap's avatar
I bought this one as it's individually switched plus has a smarter appearance. It arrived the other day, haven't put it up yet but it looks decent.

Iirc they have different options for number of sockets and length of lead.

Wouldnt trust Duronic with a barge pole . Had a faulty kettle and a dangerously faulty heater than melted my wall socket. Items are sold fba by Duronic themselves so all returns have to be returned to them with lengthy form to be filled in. They insisted items be collected but never turned up so returned to them myself tracked . They fobbed me off for ages until I got that fed up waiting for a repair/refund/replacement I used amazon chat and after 30 mins of explaining and complaining they refunded me. Be warned , FBA has its drawbacks regarding returns
    Jammer's avatar
I was under the impression Fulfilled by amazon means they take on delivery, returns and customer service queries. That's supported by the fact when I tried to leave a poor review on a seller's store feedback amazon striked it out saying "Amazon takes responsibility"

Did you add the code N7WUYAKOUF55 as well as apply the 5% tick box

Great bits of kit. I paid a lot more than this a year or so ago. Still going strong and no problems with mine whatsoever.

i bought this socket back in late 2021 and the price was 12.99
  16. CynicalNurse's avatar
Using these safely requires knowing how many amps everything you're plugging in uses which is beyond the knowledge of most people. You plug in 9 low powered things then think you're feet are a bit cold so plug in a 10A heater and the whole thing melts.

I would at least change the cheap fuse in the plug with a good quality 13A one, obviously there is an incentive for the manufacturer to fit a fuse that is sold to blow to minimise warranty claims.

I just tried now and N7WUYAKOUF55 does doesn't work anymore. May be it is one time use code per account or amazon pulled it.

We don't know what they've had plugged in though, they may have had a whole grow system plugged in then wondered why it failed!

FFS. I bought this 10days ago. To refund it for cheaper elsewhere is £2.99 return postage for a £2.49 saying! And yes I am entitled to the new offer! Balls.

I cant use the promo code either

As long as it doesn't burn down my place (see some 1 star comments) it will be one of the most cost efficient ways of improving my life as it made such a difference on my desk when I bought it last time it was on offer.

I have a visually identical one I bought from ASDA in 2010. That's been behind my telly in the UK for a couple of years, then in Hong Kong for a decade, now back in the UK and powering my home office. As one commenter above notes, it's best if you use it somewhere you're not going to mess with it unless you like the little flashes

    Hot!

    Anyone prefer Masterplug stuff?
    rapid85's avatar
Masterplug is a very reputable brand, so yes. These have caused a few house fires, if you read the 1 star reviews.
  39. rapid85's avatar
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that some reviews have mentioned the surge protection wasn't a thing with these a few weeks after using. So advisable to not assume that's going to last on these, if you're buying specifically for surge protection.
