Can anyone who uses these say how they compare to a wet shave? Cheers!

Pretty good if you use it when showering. As good as going with the grain in my experience. You'll have to stick with razors if you want that super smooth against the grain feel.

Bought it recently. Got a major skin irritation after the very first use (on the neck) which never was the case with the other cheapee shaver (for £30).

Of course, I need some more time to give the final verdict, but my first impression isn't overly good.

On the bright side, though, it shaves really quick (like under 5 mins for both the head and the neck).

I basically use mine every couple of days when I shower and no longer get that irritation you speak of. I think it happens in first use but as tue blades dull it goes away.

Where do u get replacement blades from?

Argos that's where I get mine

Set up a new argos account an you get a £5 voucher still for new accounts (I think :/ ) (edited)

If you are bald why do you need to shave your head? It's for people who want to pretend they are bald.
    Merkk's avatar
It's to avoid the Homer Simpson look. Most people who are "bald" can't grow hair on the dome of the head. Hence, the need to shave the rest. The more you know!

Pays for itself in a few months too.

If you’re bald, why do you need a head shaver?

Because hair still grows on the back and sides. Look at Jason Statham as an example.

See a lot of positive reviews here and wanted to chip in to say my 20 quid on from Amazon is far superior in that it doesn't absolutely destroy my neck. This thing isn't so bad on the scalp, it does knick occasionally, but really goes to town on your neck if you aren't careful leaving it red raw. For the price point I'd expect it to perform a lot better and honestly the 'shave' is not any closer than a cheaper model.

These are great but when it comes to shaving the tougher bits behind the ears and sideburns etc. then there aren't so good, this shaver would be good if you have a blade to around the tougher bits after shaving

Anyone recommend this for a spot of manscaping?

Bought mine from Argos when it was £63 ( price fluctuates all the time ) ... Had it about 2 months now. It's pretty decent. Cuts well.

Just buy a similar one off aliexpress for £6. Literally the same thing. I can't live without mine

Mind sending a link to the one you got?

Bald men .... thats offensive, i am sure they prefer follically challenged

It's not only offensive, it's sexist too! 😄

I had one of these but like the commenter above it only lasted about 6 months. I get a new knockoff version from Amazon once a year - usually 15-23 quid, lasts the whole year before the blades get blunt (replacements cost more than the entire thing) and I just get a new one.

feels like a waste but I can't figure out a better system!

These are great for £60. Got the model before this, the RX5. They both come with a 3 year warranty if you register it with Remington.
Mine gave up after 2 years use. Contacted Remington and they sent a new shaver out a few days later.

I guess this is a rip off of the Skull Shaver. Anyone have that one and is it worth the extra dough?
    carpediem99's avatar
I have a cheap Chinese one, Remington and skull shaver. Prefer the SS as it's closer, easier to clean and lasts longer between charges.
I bought the palm for £40ish. When the blades need replacing just buy the four blade and then it's the same as a skull shaver silver anyway.

It's good quality and quick an easy! It can catch back of your neck but can be avoided if you don't press hard to the skin

I have had 3 of these Remington shavers and every one had the battery die on them. There are countless complaints by a lot of other people who have had the same thing happen. There are plenty of others to choose from online or elsewhere but i wouldn't waste a penny on another one of these Remington shavers

I bought the XR1500 a couple of weeks ago for £49.00 and it's a game changer! This was over £70.00. Now tempted to buy this
  25. GytisBarisauskas's avatar
I have one, happy with it.

Anyone tried both this and the older RX5, is the newer one worth it?
    Mohamed_Sayed-Ahmed's avatar
According to a few comparison websites, it's not. They actually listed the rx5 as a better shaver
