Could a single bladed electric razor be the answer to our shaving worries? Philips certainly thinks so. The Dutch company's OneBlade handheld shavers offer precision trimming at budget prices, along with specialist attachments for body hair, and more powerful options for hardcore beard growers. Whatever style they need, grooming fans can find the equipment required at the hotukdeals Philips OneBlade listings. Read more

Totally agree as a shaver is rubbish as a trimmer it works well but don’t think it’s worth this after getting one in the Philips glitch the other week would hate to think I paid more than a tenner for it.

Blasphemy! :D

My partner claims I'm on it too much (confused)

Awesome - we're glad you took the plunge, nice first deal! Only problem is, it's a bit addictive, like opening a big tube of Pringles. Once you pop... (pirate)

Thank you @HutchAW I've been using Hotukdeals for so long but never posted! (y)

New customers can get this for £24.11.

Would have bought if it had body function as well

Awful shaver. Had two of these now. First shave was great. Every shave after that was awful and made a mess of my neck. Even with new blades.

At first glance, I thought the title was for a new kind of android phone (:I

I personally love mine. I use it every other day for shaving my head. Blade only lasts me 6 weeks. But that's expected using it on the head.

Awful shaver. Had two now. First trim was great. Every shave after that made a right mess of my neck, even with new blades. There it in the bin after trying and trying with it.

Looks to be matched at Amazon now. Good price it seems :)

Just waiting on the slow coaches snails slouches brains over at Amazon Global HQ to wind up their clockwork server and get the Philips price match, matched, to your find Tac!!! (lol) * by the way ordered one from your deal, just to save the fiver on the blade!!

Fantastic razor and good value, delivery included in price. Trim, edge, shave any length of hair 3 x click-on stubble combs 1 x blade for face UK 2-pin bathroom plug

Is this one of those shavers that dont actually shave your face? Aldi 3 blades FTW!

Great razor - although I find I get far better results when using it dry. Smooth shave and no cuts or razor burn. But if I try and use it to shave wet/in the shower it cuts my face to ribbons. I've been getting about 4 months on average from my blades. Pretty good going!

Ok, ty and I will look on Prime Day

Yeah me too, I had looked at them for years but only gave them a try a few months ago when I decided to ditch Gillette after those stupid adverts. I still use shaving gel but the blade seems to always be perfectly sharp and the silicon edges make it very smooth and it really does do quite a close shave, not completely smooth but much less irritation than the Mach 3. I read each blade lasts 6 months but we will see. Going strong so far.

Yes but a REAL man shaves with one of these ... .. with a blindfold on

Can use either wet or dry

Bit of a stupid question but when shaving with this, should you apply shaving foam/gel or is it set to be done 'dry'? Thanks

Don't bother. Expensive gimmick

I would just get a cheapo Braun foil shaver. I have a series 3 that was under £30 and is ok. Although it is bottom of the range and the battery life isn't great, a 5min charge is enough for a shave if you have forgotten to charge it up. If it breaks, not much money lost. I don't think any electric shavers are going to do as well as a regular blade but I get bad shaving rash with a blade. Now, a cut-throat traditional shave is the best but a skilled job. I always go for a traditional shave if I visit countries like Turkey, Cuba etc. I don't like rotary Philips style shavers but some people do. They miss too many hairs on my face and are a passion to clean. The more expensive foil shavers might be a bit better but are a lot more expensive and not worth it in my opinion. Given how fast my facial hair grows I have a shadow in a few hours regardless.

Just occurred to me there must be hundreds of these lying unused and unwanted, got to be a business idea in there somewhere

Cheers mate! Will pick one up I'm all for a clean shave but it'll be quicker and a stubble is not bad i could get used to it (lol)

With the grader tool you’ll get it down to about grade 1 (1-2mm). Using the blade without the grade tool gives you a closer shave but you will still have stubble. It’s not a clean shave like a proper razor would provide. Ideal if you just want short stubble though. I tend to shave with DE razor under chin/neck and use the One Blade for everything else

How close of a shave do you get with this?

Good to know, thanx for your input :)

The Blade Runner book (Do Androids Dream...) is only loosely connected to the the movie (which is still stunning) but is worth reading.

Is this basically a foil razor?

No, on saturday £20 off £150 was working on everything as long as you added up to that value and then removed the item at the checkout leaving just the item that you want, like oneblade etc. Yesterday, voucher cloud was doing £30 off £200 which again worked on everything as long as you added up to that value then removed at checkout. People were getting kettles for £3.99 :D

Just seen this in Lidl. May be a good try for £15. But if you trim more than 5mm then I'm unsure. As I'm usually 8-11mm myself, I passed on it.

Sadly I tried a couple and they are all really poor (only budget range ones). So I mix between the 2 I own (this one and some shaver from Lidl). They just don't seem to lift the hair up to trim. leaving large areas of uncut hair with freshly cut hair. So now I just shave once every 10 days as the hassle is annoying.

Thanks. You just saved me £46! Is there any trimmer you recommend for a longer beard?

This was the unit I managed to get 2 at £13 each on an Xmas clearance in my local tesco. Didn't know it was originally £70, at £13 it's barely any good. I'd be extremely annoyed if I paid £70 for it. I can't recommend this at £13 let alone £40. I usually have a bit of a beard (around 7+ mm) and this is crap at doing anything with the guides. Without the guide it does a good clean job if you're going for a clean shave style.

Maybe worth it if you can't wait, otherwise be on the lookout for multipack blade deals which work out cheaper and occur often (recently on Amazon, Superdrug and Phillips).

Screw it then iv bought a new head for my philips one

I find it either takes nothing off or I end up clean shaven. No in between, so frustrating.

It does give you but you need to spend extra time.

If you shave every 2-3 days the battery last atleast a month.

Philips OneBlade for Face and Body QP2620/25 £33.32 @ Argos
Posted 6th MayPosted 6th May
Cheaper than amazon...

There are two blades with this - one for the face and one for the body with the green/yellow comb attached. They are exactly the same blades once he comb is removed, making this set better value than most, but the websites don't make the exact contents terribly obvious.

There isn't an extra blade. It's just saying that is the content inside, you put that blade on it. They wouldn't put a picture of the shaver without the blade on it, that would look rather weird. I got it a while back with the same image but only had one blade. Look at the contents on the website too. It says the additional combs, chargers, etc. Doesn't say an extra blade.

Couldn't see an extra blade there?

I have SUPER sensitive skin, although I havent tried the Philips, EVERY other saving system bar the Cien 2 and now 5 blade - combined with a moisturising soap (Dove or similar) - has caused massive skin irritation; or with electric, left my face feeling rough or looking like I havent shaved at all. It takes me about 3 minutes to apply a soap layer, add a lather with a badger bristle brush, and shave off the beard, even 3-4 days growth, and leaving baby soft skin.
