    Surge protection is needed in the USA because most houses get their supply via cables on poles, where they are susceptible to lightning strikes.
    In the UK most folks mains comes underground, and damaging surges are very very rare.

    Good deal, i need 7 or 8 ideally though but if you need 6, perfect good brand and surge protection etc is worthwhile protection

    Would this be okay to plug into an adapter for travel? Like Japan? Only be charging phones and cameras.

    I wouldn't use this for travel. It's a bit big. Found a GaN charger that has many USB ports and probably that is what you need for charging phones and cameras anyway.
