The 4s is still a better tyre and better wear compound.

I have just finished with 4 and moved to 5 a year ago and the 5 has provided me more miles and grip thats off a standard 225/40/18 tyre. I would definitely recommend the 5 over the 4. Big difference

Good tyres, good price. I paid £123 per tyre for a full set in April last year at National Tyres. (205/40/17)

Is there ever deals on the Pilot Sport 4S tyres?
    Pumpkinseed's avatar
No, because they know that people who drive the type of cars that really require the standard of the PS4S will shell out for them. Tbh, the Goodyear F1 Supersport (which i'm currently trying) or Conti SC7 are looking like my next move rather than the PS4S (edited)

Deal price is £427 for 4 tyres, but as always when I check my sizes it’s £400 for 2 tyres…

    What size do you need?

I've literally just come out of my local ATS because he quoted me a better price over the phone yesterday, turns out he didn't actually include the tracking though.

Anyhoo he said my rears still had a fair bit of tread so I could get away with just replacing the fronts. He did say the way their promo system in branch works means there's very little price difference between buying two and buying four.

Better to buy four and have two spares in half decent nick seems like a no brainer to me.

Anyone give me some guidance for my Audi TT please?

Came with 4 Triangle tyres which are budget.

Michelin Pilot 5's comes in at £809.96 which is silly money.

My tyres, front and rear, are 245/35/R19.

    Thank-you.

I'm no expert but I do know quite a few mechanics where I grew up, including one who is the manager of a tyre gaff, and they all say you get what you pay for be it with tyres and car parts in general.

Yeah you can get cheaper brand tyres and pattern pads, discs etc but they ain't as good as the top brands and genuine parts. Whether the more expensive options are fully worth that premium you pay for them is subjective but I have always been of the mindset that if you've got a nice motor then you should maintain it to the highest standard.

809 odd quid is a lot of dough granted but if you can find a way of signing up to CS before making the purchase that will get you cashback of £80.99 and the Marks's giftcard will soften the blow to around. 680 quid.

Can someone enlighten me on the difference between TopCashback and CSSC please?
    Diabolik88's avatar
Put simply CS offers much higher rates of cashback and though it does charge a sub it's refunded in the form of the 'monthly bonus' provided you make at least one purchase each calendar month.

CS does not do cashback on services like insurance, financial, broadband etc so for them you have to stick with Quidco and TCB.

ATS did mine a couple of years ago, they told me tracking needed doing. I was in the Motor trade and I knew the tracking was perfect, they insisted, but said they'd do it discounted. When I left, the car was pulling to one side, went straight back. They did it again, slightly better, but still way out. I went back again a few days later, they never managed to get the tracking correct, always pulled. Would not go to them again.

Yeah for tracking I do not go to any of the commercial type branches. We have an independent local that specialises in Tracking with Hunter equipment. Runs me through the whole process and shows me all the values whilst his doing it. Says himself that from many of the established branches who operate the hunter equipment when it comes to their own cars they take them to him, even though they work with the equipment.

Not that I'm an expert but seems a decent deal after a brief Google and a whole lot more decent with 10% CS cashback thrown in too.

My 128ti came supplied with Pilot Sport 4's when I bought it and seeing they're getting close to needing replacing this has come at a good time so heat from me

Check on cash back from Michelin , upto £100 on 4 tyres....
    Aaoron's avatar

It is selected stores, when I checked the stores that were available in my location it worked out more expensive and the cash back offer is without the M&S gift card as it's specific to ATS. For example Just Tyres have the cash back offer, however each tyre is more expensive so even with a maximum discount of £100 cash back it still worked out more expensive.

52353297-GslvN.jpgThanks for that - I've just ordered a complete set of PS4 tyres for my E89 Z4 which should transform the handling once the RFT's are removed... - £511.96 fitted plus CB tracking via topcashback and a £50 voucher so that should make them effectively £450-460 depending on the TCB rate... As always comes down to size... 2 different size pairs as have staggered fitment come to 665.96 for me
    MDog0101's avatar
It’s the same discount per tyre for 2 vs 4. It’s just £35 off 2 or £70 off 4. So just order separately.

Don't know anything about tyres other than my back 2 are low on tread and front two are reasonably ok. The existing tyres from new at Pilot Sport 4s.

I was looking at 4 x Primacy 4+ at £606 (I need 235/45Y18), then debating just getting two, or theres thsi deal with 4 coming out at £667. I haven't heard of CS but could give that a try.

Any advice? Is it better replacing all 4 even if there's some tread left on the front? I'm just over halfway on the 4 year lease of the vehicle... (edited)
    Aaoron's avatar

I would consider if the front tyres will pass MOT for the duration of the lease. Some lease options allow balloon payments at end to buy the car, I presume your returning it. Also surprised needing tyres so soon, leases are usually brand new vehicles.
  18. djdave2929's avatar
I have an Audi TT manual 2.0 TFSI.

Tyres are new, but they are Triangle brand.

Was excited when I noticed this deal......... until I saw they are £220 each. (edited)

I've had a slightly different experience...

Booked online - had tyres fitted near work, submitted original invoice from ATS along with my reg and had my M&S Giftcard declined initially because original receipt does not prove that tyres were fitted (it couldn't possibly because the original receipt was generated when I paid and I wasn't given a second receipt confirming tyre fitment because they don't usually issue two receipts)!!...

Fitting garage (ATS Euromaster) is now having to produce a second receipt for me which seems weird when ATS should be able to see that the tyres have been fitted, so I'm guessing the claim is via a third party who can't access the fitting data so its worth making sure you get a receipt after your tyres are fitted that also confirms that they have been fitted....

Hopefully this will be resolved but a less than slick end to what had been a relatively painless process up until now... (edited)
    Diabolik88's avatar
Didn't you get a receipt like this after they fitted them?
