    Pity there is no network adapter, that's the most useful multi adapter port IMO, as most modern laptops don't have one. 'They' love to remove ports and indicator lights from even the most expensive laptops.

    Network adapters are from about £8 and good ones will be automatically recognised by most versions of windows and linux etc (no drivers required) (edited)

    I have a portable laptop monitor (thin HP fold away types) that only has USB-C (no HDMI) - would this allow me to connect a device that has HDMI output to my portable monitor? Effectively I would be using it in the reverse of what the image in the listing shows:
