does anyone still buy IPS monitors in this day and age or are they fading away now
    Crossbow's avatar
Most people buy VA as it's one of the most affordable. As IPS/OLED prices drop, more people are opting for these. TN seems to be vanishing altogether.

    From thefpsreview.com/202…ce/
"TrendForce reveals that vertical alignment (VA) LCD monitors took the lion’s share of the market in 2022 at 51%.
This was followed by in-plane switching (IPS) LCD monitors at 43.4%, and finally twisted nematic (TN) LCD monitors accounted for 5%.
However, it’s worth noting that OLED gaming monitors have grown in popularity, taking 0.6% of the market share in 2022. Thanks to the diversification of OLED products, that market share is expected to grow to 1.6% in 2023.
Furthermore, TrendForce predicts that IPS monitors may begin competing with VA monitors given that not only are IPS products increasing their market share but many IPS gaming monitors are seeing a continuous price reduction."

I bought this monitor last week with a similar discount from work. I'm using it solely with my indoor bike for Zwift. Really impressed. Great build quality and fantastic image.

These don’t have USB-C connections I don’t think. So bit useless if your a MacBook user.

Not to be funny but have any of you used Mac before? :/

I have three displays connected to my Mac mini M2 Pro and when I had an M1 Pro MacBook I had two connected.

You use a USB-C to DisplayPort cable or a USB-C to HDMI cable. My Macs also had HDMI ports. Right now I have two displays connected from USB-C to DP and one via the HDMI port. My main display is running at 2560 x 1440 @ 165Hz over DP.

Are these curved monitors good for working on as well like document and browsing?
    fizzymilk's avatar
It's weird at first but you get used to it. Doesn't offer any benefit in this scenario.

    Would buy if HDR
    Crossbow's avatar
I think you either need to reduce your expectations or be willing to spend double or more to get some semblance of decentish HDR on a monitor this size & spec. (edited)

Has anyone purchased this to use with a PS5? I have a old samsung 1080p tv that i currently use as my monitor for my PC and PS5. Wonder if i should upgrade and go for this.
    Potterified's avatar
Could you instead get a low-end 4K telly? The only reason I am suggesting this is because of your PS5. It is probably better matched to a larger screen and 4K resolution, if space and distance from screen permits.
