These are great for a compact toolbox, prefer it to the big metal ones of old

Anyone know if it comes with blades or do I need to order them separately?

    Should come with 3 blades

    criteria for EDC knives are:
    Folding
    Non-locking
cutting edge 3 inches or less

I would be hesitant to call this a folding knife, since the blade itself doesn't fold, it's more the housing. But a moot point anyway since it's also a locking knife which is a definite no-no in the eyes of the law. You would need a decent excuse to carry this around legally, like camping/fishing or something to do with your job.

Why else would you be carrying one around?

I have two of these and they are great knifes, excellent quality and very dependable.

These are much more of a pain to change the blade than 'normal' versions though.

I might be missing something but it looks like it's basically the same mechanism as the non-folding one quick release one I have? You extend the blade, press the red release and pull the blade out, push the button to open the back, take out new blade, close back, press red release again and push blade in; which takes less than 10 seconds. I didn't think there were faster/easier blade changing versions.

Is the Dewalt version of a folding knife basically the same knife as this ?, I know Dewalt and Stanley are part of the same company and many of their tools are very similar.

Think you well may be right, Dewalt owning Stanley
