Arete is the perfect solution to dealing with condensation, mould and damp problems either in the home, in a garage, in an unheated basement, on a boat or in a caravan. All Arete One dehumidifiers come with a medical grade H13 HEPA filter which is 75% larger than the filter on our popular Low Energy models. It can be used to clean the air during dehumidification and as a stand-alone air purifier throughout the spring and summer months.

Large buttons include controls for Smart Humidity Control, Night and Laundry Mode either of which can be set by pressing just one button.

New models almost invariably prove less reliable than the originals until they’ve ironed out the teething problems.  That applies to most things.

Probably better off with the old ones for a few months.

Does it put out a fair bit of heat then?

I didnt have the cash last time now I do but contemplating the 20L one over this. Tough one and only £30 in it really ... Nice price. Dont forget a little TCB.

I have an air purifier already - would this be able to replace that too? (edited)

the 20L one seems to be equally or more efficient than this (in a watts required per extracted litre per day), and quieter. Any reason to choose this one, I imagine it dries clothes slightly faster but then again, at the cost of a higher wattage

Which? gives better ratings to the 25L than the 20L. That was my reasoning.

I keep thinking these are Sim WiFi routers

Im the opposite, I keep thinking SIM WiFi routers are dehumidifiers when I see pictures of them.

Wish they'd quote the size of the water container instead of the amount of water removed in a day. Does anyone without a serious damp problem (which is very few) really care about anything other than how often they have to empty it?

Think both the 20L and 25L have 5L tanks.

I empty my meaco out every 3 days ish. Sometimes longer.

Just read on their site that the air filter needs changing every 3 months or so - it costs £39.99 for 3! Put me off a bit - not an issue I guess if just using as Dehumidifier but a pain if you do? (edited)

I would wager if you blow off or wash out the filter and put it back in it'll be fine for years. My car air filter gets changed once every couple of years and it travels at 70mph on a motorway by fields full of pollen an dust!
Just a nice way for them to make extra money.
