I've got the larger Akorn. Works well, though I've not used it much over the past year or two due to family issues and it has never seen a great deal of use. Last I decked (probably mid-2023!) there was little rust. I'm on my second cover now as the first degraded in the elements, but did the job of keeping it dry.

So cute, perfect for my bedside table.

These sell for pocket money in Costco in the US but they do get good reviews. The double skinned metal isn't as good as ceramic and certainly won't last as long but it's a good way to get a decent sized kamado for a LOT less than a ceramic one. Much easier to move around too.

Each to there own, the Akorn is more fuel efficient than ceramics, it is so well insulated that it is cooler to touch on theoutside so it is a lot safer than ceramics (you will not be touching a ceramic when it is on), it is lighter so easy to move around (whichyou can’t do with a ceramic), the metal fire bowl will never crack (which often happens with ceramics). They come with a cast ironcooking grate. They are a fraction of the cost of ceramics. Downsideis if you do not look after them then they rust but spares can be bought to replace the parts that rust.

So in what respect apart from snob factor are ceramics better? (edited)
