Great price. Skincare can be very confusing for beginners (like me)—so many products and brands—you can easily spend hundreds on products you shouldn't have bought. I've recently started using the regular retinol 24 + the daily SP30 cream. OLAY is much better quality than the like of Cerave, for example. This deal here is a no-brainer for beginners. Worth it.

As an aside about retinols - I used to regularly use Retin-A (tretinoin). Some skincare obsessives use it for anti-aging purposes, not just acne but it's hard to tolerate (cream is a bit kinder than gel). Different concentrations too - 0.1% is the highest iirc.

Used to purchase it from Indian pharmacies via bank transfer (which would earn me a stern telling off from my bank, and yep, at one point I did get weird transactions on my card!) so I was quickly turned off that route.

At one point ebay sellers would sell Retin-A / tretinoin by describing their listings as 'retinol' but I think ebay really clamps down on these listings now (being a prescription drug).

Some skin types just can't tolerate it at all and you get flakey when you first use it, even those with the most robust skin. And it makes you more sun-sensitive so SPF is a must.

There may be new skincare regimens now but I used to keep it Vitamin C in the morning (if I have any products with it) and Retinoids at night.

I'm using a product I got from Home Bargains (Korean skincare brand) - AHC Youth Focus (£4.99 - mentioned here - I discussed it at one point but can't find my comment) - which has a slightly stronger retinoid in it (than the Olay options) called Retinal ('A', not 'O': Google tells me it is 'short for retinaldehyde' and 'acts faster but could potentially be more irritating'). I have the Essence, which is a serum, the Emulsion is a moisturiser, I think. Wish I'd stocked up on more!

Oh, and if you're pregnant, it's strongly advised to stay away from any Vitamin A topicals. Though, of course, Google now contradicts this! (edited)
