Lol So everyone knows, it doesn't ship with the batteries as it's AA and they can't be sent airmail now. Only internal built in batteries can be sent. No soap as you can't send liquids by airmail, not over 100ml anyway, so it would only be destroyed by customs if it were checked. Not worth the additional cost to try and send it to have negative feedback when they are seized

Kenneth131

Because they sell refills themselves in China just like carex and the like do here.

Kenneth131

Not if you pop the top off with the slightest of care. Videos on YouTube show you how it's done

This stuff is terrible if you have eczema - I had to get rid of it as it tore my skin up. Took 4 weeks to heal

grahamwill39

I got the Tesco Aloe Vera refill the other day for 79p - just put the old pump top on ...will do everytime now....works perfect and no sticky residue.

nicedeal

Same price in Tesco. Doesn't appear to be a discount, so not really a "deal"?

SteadVex

This is good isn't it? 250ml refill was £1.50 I bought some, always annoys me it's cheaper to buy a new bottle with pump than a refill, well until this size come out!

Coincidentally I had the same, soap everywhere both in the soap box and it had leaked into the outer box too. Then Amazon wanted me to return them which was a waste of time and then had an argument with Amazon customer services to get a full refund after they offered a fiver.

Boots own brand mini Aloe hand gel 50ml is 75p which i think they are referring to. Because the 50ml carex bottles in boots are all around £1.50.

replicant69

Yep, not to mention they offer the 100ml for £1.50 which still makes this deal more expensive.

blabbity

I really don’t like the way Wilko have been operating lately. Was about to order from them just before the lockdown was announced (unrelated goods) and then most of my basket got suddenly wiped out by panic buyers. Set up back in stock alerts and waited, as the handful of items left weren’t worth the delivery charge. But, in all this time, I’ve only received a single back in stock alert. Now, everything from my basket is just showing as “check in store”. Seemingly they just aren’t bothering to restock, at least online. They’re letting down their customers who can’t go out and need home deliveries. They may as well have stopped trading as far as they’re concerned. And they’re encouraging people to visit their stores just to check stock. This is completely the opposite approach that they should be taking. They already had online delivery capability, so why not focus on expanding that instead of abandoning it? And they could’ve rationed items allowed to be bought online, like every other retailer, to help with that. How can they claim to be so essential that they must stay open throughout the lockdown, yet consider themselves to be non-essential to those unable to visit their stores? Can’t have it both ways.

Misslovely

Exactly, many private companies benefit from NHS supply chains at increased national cost, thats multi channel supply privatisation, at more tax payer cost per patient per annum. Buy bulk make savings, but then the gov split the actual NHS into a logo/badge & separate organisations with poor national standards & NICE which is as much good as a soggy blanket when specialists & Trusts no longer collaborate on best outcomes nationally & reporting to NICE to make a well informed patient centric Trust/s/outcome/s. My NHS trust wards has B Braun (disinfectant) hand wash & sanitisers. Not a mention of antibacterial, but that’s what it does. Any soap isn’t anti bacterial, it’s added ingredients to hopefully kill what soap & water alone don’t due to poor hand hygiene technique, proper hand washing technique should be taught in school dinner halls before eating, explained fully and told to be done after entering a bathroom - simple things. Most people would fail food hygiene prep in their own kitchens. So antibacterial ingredients agents make some of the shortfall of a school based proper education, which for all purposes could be a very interactive education process. Then again most teachers couldn’t administer first aid if a child collapsed in front of them (confused) Like the NHS we gave national regs and thus control of standards away to local ‘bodies’ that don’t deliver and don’t learn. I done food hygiene certificate many many many years ago, the fact is what I learnt about hand washing then I should have known since I was a primary one pupil. I didn’t!??

jearts95

I have no idea what that was suppose to add, I never said they bought it all off the same suppliers. Each trust doesn’t work the same anyway my dad runs the NHS supply line procure and deliver a lot of what each trust needs, but if they cannot source something each trust is free to buy what they need from where ever they like, so long as legal standards are met. It’s not a matter of privatisation the NHS has never manufactured goods it requires, always have been bought Privately. About the soup, what your referring to isn’t soap. It’s hand sanitiser, or hand gel. Antibacterial literally isn’t a thing when to referring to soap and hand sanitiser, it’s an inherent property of both things. It like saying alcoholic alcohol, frozen ice or wet water. It’s just what it is.

The asda stuff in the massive bottle ain't great. We're comparing apples and oranges here. If you want cheap soap the ultimate way is to buy bars, you can save a tonne on bar soap. Bar soap is perfectly functional and you get 4 bars for 40p or something daft, and that can last for months. Carex is usually 90p to £1 for 250ml when on offer (which is usually is to be fair) and if you use a lot, to save on plawtic, you would buy the refills which are good but only hold a max of 1 litre for the biggest which oddly costs about £3.50 I think. So £12/ 5 litre is a good price for carex whichever way you skin it. I kinda know the prices because I buy way too much of the stuff. (y)

ansarch

Not sure where u buy from but I usually stock up on these things so haven’t bought one recently. Last time I bought 250mls from Asada for 69p and they were selling 350ml for £1 which worked out expensive

Erudite

Expired.

deleted2412628

That's a good price. One thing I've noticed about cheaper soaps is the soap sinks and you have to remember to shake it pretty much daily, lest you end up with half a bottle of thick soap and half a bottle of weird smelling water.

mr.AK

If you are not fussy about brand then cheaper alternative is aldi handwash cost 65p for 500ml. Similar you may get from lidl.

Rotoq

I didn't say it does. Just disagree with your assertion that profiteering is the point of business.

Sawb

Yes yes, but how does £2.49 for 6 bars fall into that category?

Rotoq

Profiteering does not mean simply aiming to make a profit. It means trying to profit from a particular set of circumstances. Taking advantage of a situation. In this case a particularly grim situation where many are dying.

Sawb

Kinda the point of a business, but £2.40 for 6 soaps is horendously overpriced?
