    I got the prequel to this several months ago: How to lose what little money you've got put by.Sadly the Wife/ Kids and Car were gone before i finished it.Thankfully the house was rented.But with 3 months back rent to pay i could be unlucky and lose the House too. (edited)

    I tried day trading during the pandemic. Lost £17k. In a nutshell, you are using borrowed money to leverage your wins/losses. You have to close your positions before the end of the day because you don’t pay interest if you do that. However, there is a huge spread when you buy and when you sell, meaning you are already down the moment you buy. Anyway, prices didn’t go the way I expected and I lost quite a bit. I hope my experience prevents others from going down this route. It’s basically gambling as the odds are not in your favour. Yes, you might win, just as you might win playing roulette, but most people lose, and the losses can be quite big. Like gambling, you also lose a lot of time, something that is even more precious than money. My advice: don’t read this book and don’t day trade.

    FX day-trading is a mugs' game.

    There is an ad on youtube, some dude uses a trading tool that picks out the best trade, he goes for a jog and then had 31k in his pot when he gets back.. I mean, if it was that easy, we would have a lot of wealthy people around.

    I just stashed tons of money in savings with the high(ish) interest rates and am living off that atm.

    Youtube is full of such scammers promoting trading bots and prophets who know the future.

    The markets are rigged just like the bookies, rigged to take the fools money who thinks he can beat the markets day trading LoL

    And erm, offers teaser courses about trading when he's not climbing the everest, sleeping in the Moroccan desert, or deep-diving in Egypt. Hmm...

    When does he actually trade?

    News from today's Trading Floor:

    Helium was up, feathers were down. Paper was stationary. Fluorescent tubing was dimmed in light trading. Knives were up sharply. Pencils lost a few points. Hiking equipment was trailing. Elevators rose, while escalators continued their slow decline. Weights were up in heavy trading.

    Mining equipment hit rock bottom. Diapers remained unchanged. The market for raisins dried up. Balloon prices were inflated. And toilet paper touched a new bottom.

    Of course there's loads of people who make money day trading. But the vast majority of them end up losing it soon after, if not the next day

    I brought the paper back version of this to take on holiday with me.. when I saw the size of it, I left it at home and took another book instead. I've not had the chance to read it yet, but thanks; I'll grab the kindle version as well.
