You can get NVME with enclosure for that price

It's a way better option too.

    Cold for this I'm afraid

I wouldn't want that hanging off my USB-C port. Move the laptop slightly and misjudge it and the connector'll break off and get stuck in the laptop. And a ruined SSD. I really hope they included a short extension cable to avoid this.

In my opinion this is not cheap, I've seen it before at around this price. I also find the form factor not great. It is too long, moving the laptop, particularly if you use it on your lap, you risk breaking the flash drive in the usb port.
However, NVME+enclosure is not a great solution, IMO. Not everyone knows to 'build' an external SSD. The form factor will not be as small as this one. You'll probably not get away much cheaper. It is about £85 if you get both, the NVME and the enclosure from China. Portable SSD are small enough, Crucial X8 1050Mb/s was/is as little as £60. I'm not saying get a Crucial X8, I'm saying that rather than NVME + enclosure, I'd rather have the X8. I didn't vote. (edited)

Nvme 1TB SSDs are under 40 quid and an enclosure under 20 quid. 60 total max.

Much better thermal headroom, use cases and repairability. (edited)

This has been £85 for well over a month. Its not really a deal at this point.
