How are those that are deciding between this and the corsair one making their final decision?

    Cost? WD
    Operating Temp? WD
    Endurance? C
    IOPS? C (edited)

Cost is the main deciding factor.

Temps, you're not going to be constantly writing to it so temps on both will be fine.
Endurance of both is far more than anyone would really needed (unless they are installing/uninstalling games all day every day).
IOPS, not enough of a difference to be noticeable in real world use. (edited)

Excellent price for a Steam Deck 1tb ssd. I got this one earlier in the year and paid about 100 from Scan.

I doubt you're gonna beat that without going through AliExpress.

Yet the more expensive Corsair drive posted after this still gets more heat, lol.

Don't mind if I do, I've been looking for an upgrade ever since I missed the 2TB deal. I didn't want AliExpress as it won't arrive in time.

Mine came within a week of ordering, faster than my steam deck lol

I'm just waiting for that golden £1=1TB ratio to come around before I upgrade. :P

    That's a long wait as it's currently £79=1TB

I bought 2 tb from scan a month ago and it came in a OEM package... Nothing like in advertising picture from their site (works OK on my rog ally)

Pretty sure the SN740 only ever comes in OEM packaging, if there were any retail it wouldn't have been many.

I ordered the 2TB version and it was delivered today. Wrapped really well but not in any sort of packaging.

I don't this there is retail packaging for this model (if there was they didn't do many) so it'll always be like every other OEM.

Temp is my main concern in a small space even with heat sink for 65c.

For example in my dell g15 the 2280 MP600 PRO NH 2TB was scorching, so much so I had to stop using it and replace it with a 3x4 to be on the safe side with the less than ideal thermals of the dell g15 5520 (edited)

Had to go back down at some point. Theyve all rocketed over the weekend. Plus 15 quid.
