Top tip: check the Venice tide tables for your proposed travel dates, and avoid dates at or near high tide. Some bad weather will flood Venice whatever but high tides make it more likely. Whilst I am sure Venice in wellies is an experience, it might not be one you want to contend with. (edited)

Thanks, adjusted my dates by a week to get lower tides!

Been around a fair bit .. and have to say I LOVE Venice out of season... Worth getting a nice hotel, and top tip stay away from all restaurants unless they appear like a fast food chain or featured on a trusted TV show, better off in a cafe than a restaurant, 95% of restaurants are there to fleece tourists.. shocking service, shocking food, astronomical prices, €30 for a large beer... stick to places filled (and I do mean filled) uncomfortably so in most cases by locals.. research before you go, and pre book once your 100% sure that they are decent.. that Fred fella (from Gordon Fred and Gino) did a good show which featured a couple of top quality 'but affordablt' restaurants out there.. morano glass blowing worth a visit, but again unless you have money to burn, shops 50yards down from the factory sell same stuff 50% cheaper... any one savvy should be able to have a amazing 3 day trip under £250 in spending... Anyone not savvy will spend that on one atrocious meal, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

Strange, we went last year and eat in a few places in great locations and didn't pay more than €100 for 2 meals and a bottle of wine. Good service in all of them as well.

I stayed here in April 2016, I paid £417 for 3 nights which seemed like a good deal at the time, I paid an additional 50€ per night to upgrade to the superior room which is included here.

Nice hotel. Room isn't huge but I don't think you really get big rooms in Venice. Nice and close to St Mark's Square and was and clean, breakfast was ok too. Nice pizza by the slice place around the corner. Didn't get a bottle of wine when I went. Would certainly stay here again at this price!

Once you give them your email, they bombard you with daily mails. You then have to sign in to unsbcribe. If you've seen an offer you really want it's probably worth it but don't give them ur email if just browsing.

It is pretty chilly that time of year too so take warm jumpers.

Booked two nights here in the middle of October. Had already booked flights a few months back as doing a 10 day trip including Rome, Pisa and Florence. Hoping to bag a decent hotel in Florence now for 4 nights to finish off the accommodation side.
