Our bmw x3 engine was noticeably louder clattering when we used this oil. Switched back to Castrol and now it’s back to normal.

It's for flushing your old oil. Not for using on a daily basis. You get what you pay for in the engine oil world 😏

Would this be suitable for a bmw 520d 2015?

Hmm, if i said "yes", would you not double check anyway and go by someone random on a deals forum?

Which leans me more to say - perhaps you shouldn't do it yourself until you read up about it.

Just bought 2 x 5ltr for my BMW F15 X5 LL04 rated oil so bargain.

Thanks, needed some more. I've been using this in my E46 for a couple of years now, handy as it burns it as quickly as I can pour it in!

Been using mannol 0w20 in my Lexus is300h for years without issue. No difference to the more expensive brands. On 130k at the moment. Serviced every 10k miles. (edited)

Does oil have a shelf life? If 20l was to do say 4 years would it still be OK having been opened that length of time?

Silly question, but if I change the BRAND of oil I'm using, do you need an oil change first?

I had an oil change about 6 months ago and haven't done many miles since. However, my RedEx oil is running out so I'm tempted to move to Mannol at this price.

If the oil is the same like-for-like spec, would there be any issue?

Nope, you don't - oil is oil in the end and similar/same specs should do the trick anyway
