Excellent price. Blows anything else at this level away!

Bought this drive a few weeks ago for more and the speed is great. Feeling like stock is being shifted to make way for Gen 5.

Gen 5 is entirely pointless but if it reduces the Gen 4 'tax' that can't be a bad thing.

I have a spare Nvme slot. My main is Samsung pro 980 2tb.

What would be the best deal. This or the MX500 SSD? (I also already have one of these but cost a fortune some years ago.

    NVME and SSD
Which is best for Games and which for Photos and Videos? I like to keep drives and games seperate to work.

Games will perform virtually the same on both as the difference in random r/w speeds is minimal (games 'might' load a second or so quicker at the most on the Kingston).

If by photo's and videos you mean editing (transcoding, etc), then the sequential speeds of the Kingston would make a huge difference. (edited)

Sorry I’m a noob, does this come with heatsink or that thing with the branding is just a sticker? (edited)
    hazzabeee's avatar
Not obvious from the product page, but according to reviews, the "sticker" is designed to act as a low profile heatsink

Can anyone recommend a heat sink to purchase for this when using it in a PS5 ? thanks

The cheap £7'ish ones on Amazon are perfectly fine.
Will update with a link unless someone beats me to it.

    EDIT:
May as well get this 2 pack, might find a use for the extra one somewhere -

I was going to suggest another one, but no confirmation it actually fits so not worth the risk.
Nice for PC owners though -

    Great price.

Expecting another Samsung to soar past its heat though. (edited)

Agreed. Hard to beat the Kingston KC3000 on value!

One of the best SSD releases. Terrible to see SSD deals being posted that are misleading and below spec for just a few pounds less than this. I guess that is one reason why people trust Samsung, as they keep their choice minimal and simple.

Kingston is one of the big companies in this space and trustworthy.

    Does this work with PS5??
    jack.jumpin's avatar
I hope it does as I ordered it for one, maybe I just messed up doh.

    Thanks everyone for your input.
    I've now purchased this.
Just need to decide if to use this or my SSD for games or storage.

Gives me chance to dust the insides of my PC whilst I install it like a surgeon

    Hi,

I've just bought the Legion 5 laptop: hotukdeals.com/dea…986

Would this be a good install for the spare NVME slot to upgrade my storage capacity? I'm going to use the laptop for basic 4k video rendering.

    Yes.
