Micron TLC NAND (though in the US some have reported YMTC NAND), DDR4 DRAM cache, Phison PS5018-E18 controler (again, in the US some have had the Innogrit IG5236) , excellent performance.

4TB deal posted here, nothing close to this price/performance ratio for a high end 4TB gen4 SSD -

Excellent. Another great share. I have so many now and still no decent Gen 5 deals but looks controller and heats issues for Gen 5 but Gen 4 at this price is still the way to go for now.

Yeah, gen5 are looking hot but not in a 'good deal' way, lol.
I actually custom build M.2 coolers (with either a single 40mm or dual 40mm fan versions). I think I might have a few requests for them next year when gen5 prices drop (well, hopefully they drop).

Many current motherboard heatsinks struggle keeping gen5 drives cool.

Must remember to file a patent for my coolers... (edited)

Don't know how reliable the comments are, but read a couple of reviews on Amazon complaining about swapping the Phison E18 controller and Micron B47R TLC NAND for Innogrit IG5236 controller and YMTC NAND. I hate it when companies pull this kind of crap.

I couldn't find any Amazon UK reviews mentioning that.
Were those reviews from somewhere else?

I know a lot of companies do switch parts.
As long as performance/reliability is the same it's not a big deal, but some make huge differences (WD, Kingston and Crucial have all been guilty of that, among others). (edited)
