Amazing deal, bought mine back in March 2023 for about £150, been very happy with it so far.

I posted these numbers on another deal, but this is specifically the drive I got so they may be useful to someone. Here's some benchmarks and a drive health report.

What a great price. Has something come out that trounces these for performance? Or is there no particular reason for the price drop?

The large drop in price was known about and predicted last year. NAND flash has become very cheap and fast to produce. Coupled with the previous downturn this lead to an oversupply and so we are now reaping the benefits. PCIe Gen5 has just come out, these are 10k+ speeds, but they are 3 times the price and there isn't the brand choice yet.

Bought for £110 on Amazon UK this morning, which had dropped from £125 the day before. Not worth cancelling as prices will probably continue to drop and need to make a stand at some point

At £110 you can also consider the recent Kingston Fury deal with heatsink

Had the 1TB model in my laptop for a month now. Been goood

Does this need a heatsink if it's going straight into a pc?
    HotDan's avatar
I haven't got a heatsink on either of mine.

This is the exact SSD I want, but I think I'm gonna hold off until the next price cut, hopefully I don't regret it.

I'm in the exact same boat! When do I pull the trigger?! I have the 1TB in my gaming pc that I want to replace for the 2TB. The old one will go into my unRAID server.

Does Gen4 need different slot? I have a 1Tb ssd and wanting to upgrade to 2tb
    MrHuk's avatar
Your motherboard needs to support gen 4 to get the maximum speed. But for it to work you just need an m.2 slot.
