We have 12" fans in each bedroom running all night every night 365 days a year... none of us can sleep without white noise and fan noise is the best! Just bought 3 x 12" fans for when the current ones inevitably start grinding and clicking, thanks op

I sleep way better with a fan on too,do yourself a favour buy a "lectrofan",it's a speaker that makes 10 non-repeating unique fan sounds & 10 non-repeating unique white noise sounds 👌 ditch running fans when it's cold 🥶 tiny as well so perfect for travel!

Stopped buying these cheap fans and invested in the Meaco 1056 you often see on sale. It's a lot more expensive but more effective than this cheapo stuff, a much better investment if you can afford it (and still cheaper/better/quieter than a Dyson). (edited)

I used to buy these pathetic stand fans pretty much every year, they're so fragile and the motor gave up after a while. Around 4 years ago I bought 4 (or 5) Belaco fans with orange blades and round base, they're still going strong used 6 months of the year. Moral of the story is don't buy these cheapo fans unless they're a fiver each.

Not sure I've needed a fan since a short period about three months ago. Looking at the weather forecast, I'm not going to need one before the 3rd September (the last day the forecast goes). Today is looking like the warmest day for some time and only 23 degrees.

I imagine many retailers have been hit quite badly with stock of Air Conditioners and Fans, and they'll be looking to shift some stock quite seriously. I can see them being practically given away in September, that they're half price in August is a good start.

Well worth keeping a couple in the loft for the inevitable time it is too hot though, because then you won't get a fan for love nor money.

I mostly blame myself for the poor weather, I bought the kids an outdoor big pool and myself an AC when it hit 30 degrees and I couldn't breathe in my home office, I don't think we've had a decent day since.

    So it's your fault!

Saying that, I took down the 16" fan from the loft when it started creeping up. We'd moved recently and this house handles the warmth better, never set the fan up and the weather turned and was atrocious for weeks after, so I will also take partial blame.

Went into Worcester branch and they had 49 (yes I counted) of the 12" fans by the till and I noticed that one of them had a sticker saying £5. The kind chap at the till said he was happy to honor the price (even though I was just pointing out it was just a mistake). So I got two for £5!

The owner of Dunelm is a big donor to the Conservative party, so I won't be buying anything from them again.

interested in the 16 pedestal fan is it a nice powerful breeze?. my similar from screwfix went back for weak performance. My b and q one is well powerful at same wattage.

I'm not a fan of the cheapish plastic one's, all metal construction or nothing, they last a lot longer. (edited)
