Had my WD Red's for 6+ years on, 24/7. Might cost a lot, but I trust them. If your trying to expand an existing system, decent ish price.

Can this be used as an external?

Been using the Reds for nearly a decade. Rock solid in my experience...running a 4x12TB HP microserver in ZFS RAIDZ. Not a bad price for right now, but 30% off towards the end of last year was the much better deal. I'm gonna wait for them to rerun that offer.

This is a really poor price, you can get a 16Tb enterprise Seagate drive for £208 just be warned the warranty is through the seller not Seagate! amazon.co.uk/Sea…17f (edited)

Thats seems like a good price. Not sure why you mention the seller being an issue, it says the seller is the Seagate Store. Looks like official Seagate to me.

Ok reading reviews of drives purchased I see what you mean. Its a bit shady advertising themselves as the Seagate Store and not offering full Seagate warranty. (edited)
