    I repair so many Acer's with hinge issues, the plastic they use in the body and around the brass screw threads is really brittle and cracks over time causing the screen to come away at the hinges. Unless this is made from metal which I don't think it is, I'd avoid it.

    Tbh, I reckon it's down to the fine specs. The Dell has easily upgraded ram and 15.6 screen. But the Acer is a well regarded laptop. They're both okay imo unless some heavy processing is required and they may even be suitable for that.

    Read the specs. If it is true, 3*usb 3.1 (no usb 2.0 anymore, finally) Thunderbolt 4, hdmi 2.1, wifi 6e...jeeeez, for this money these extras are unbelievable.....fingerprint sensor, backlit keyboard with ips screen....
    This is a huge steal...

    If it was 15.6" I would buy it even though I just got a Lenovo Slim 3 15.6" with similar specs for a similar price.

    This sounds like it probably has 4gb soldered. So could probably put a 16gb SODIMM in the other slot to make it 20gb.

    It's NVMe in the specs sheet so you should be good replacing that.

    Back lit keyboard and fingerprint sensor as well, seems decent for the price although not as good as the argos Travelmate from a few weeks ago.

    How is it not better than the TravelMate? The processor for one is. 12th gen i3 is better than the i5 in the TravelMate. TravelMate supports up to 32GB ram, but that’s about it. (edited)
