Title says touchscreen but product page says doesn't have one?

I really want one of these but all the UK ones seem to be non touch version as far as I can see.

Have removed touchscreen to avoid any confusion, even though YouTube review says it is.

    Maybe someone can clarify. (edited)

Very good specs, but perhaps a bit too high for a Chromebook. Nothing wrong with this, but the price is too close to a Windows laptop. Some people don't want Windows, but I think one of the major selling points for a Chromebook is that it costs about 50% less than buying a budget Windows laptop. I would have gone for this if it was £250. Not saying is not worth this price, I'm saying I don't need it, but if it was a bargain, I would've gone for it. (edited)

I tend to agree. Daughter is looking for a laptop for uni. I suggested a Chromebook rather then Windows in part because they are cheaper.

This seems like a lot of 'laptop' for the money. I don't understand the comparison with Windows laptops. You might as well compare this to a Macbook Air! (which people won't).

I paid over £700 for a Chromebook 3 years ago. I use it every day for work and personal tasks. I use it, docked, with 2 monitors and a bluetooth keyboard and Apple Trackpad. It just works. And the Acer Vero is arguably a better specced Chromebook to mine.

To be able to use a productivity device for so long and not have any software issues seems remarkable to me.

People inevitably ask or comment: "but you can't do this or that". Fair enough, but this is what I use my Chromebook for:
General 'Office' tasks e.g. writing, spreadsheets, presentations, email, video calls etc
Digital Marketing tasks e.g. graphic design, video creation, data analysis etc
Web design e.g. end to end web dev projects.
    Project and Task management.

I also use various Linux apps (and can even run some specific windows apps in Bottles).
I use a few Android apps that offer additional functionality over PWAs.

    I have a WiFi printer.

Of course, people will have specific needs for a Windows PC. But, in my opinion those people have a niche use case. I don't consider myself to be doing anything special in my day to day job. I imagine most of my tasks are very similar to a lot of people who do standard 'office' jobs.

If you can buy a Windows PC/Laptop for similar or less money, go ahead. But I don't think you'll get the frustration free experience that I have experienced with a Chromebook.

    Totally agree.

I have a Windows PC, but you'd never get me to use a windows laptop again. Had Chromebooks since the beginning. The gap has narrowed slightly these days but the simplicity of instant boot, long battery life, behind the scenes updates and a million other things just makes it so easy.

I also love the fact that I could lose my Chromebook tomorrow (or upgrade), get a new one and login and everything would be exactly the same instantly.
