This is what mine came like.. this was from Kapra Mart.. didn’t realise it wasn’t Amazon direct and was clearly a dud.

I bought from this seller and used the Authentication Utility at the bottom of this page to check it was genuine semiconductor.samsung.com/con…ls/ . The one supplied to me was genuine.

Personally wouldn’t buy any cards that are being sold by third parties on Amazon

Especially at this size. Imagine the loss. I was stung twice by Amazon cards from third parties. It simply isn't worth it. Avoid avoid.

Awful cards. It seems that every single Samsung EVO card that I have had fails sooner rather than later. Better off going with MyMemory as they offer cards with lifetime guarantees.

Have you used that piece of software to find out who manufacturers the chips on their cards? There aren't many manufacturers these days and 5 years (as this card has) is the norm with the major manufacturers. MyMemory state their warranty "does not extend to dash cams, CCTV, surveillance camera and other write-intensive uses". "write-intensive" is pretty vague IMO.

Fake guaranteed. That's way too low price for an original 512GB card.

Amazon use to sell them for £27 not long ago (not third party seller). That's about the price it should be, £25-£30 tops. (edited)

Hi I've received the card this morning & run crystaldisk 8 on my laptop & it says the read speed is only 87MB/s then on the second line says 84MB/s this is way short of the claimed 130MB/s ...
I presume this is very slow as I'm not up on speeds of cards...
    Would you return it.
    Thanks again

The speeds could be down to your card reader. It's far from slow in my opinion.

same price at mymemory now I've seen posted on here so takes the risk out of this one for the same price from a well known company over some unknown 3rd party.
