Was released on the 15th so I'm sure it'll start appearing soon https://www.noypigeeks.com/android/pocophone-f1-armoured-edition-pricing-and-availability-philippines/ "Xiaomi will start selling the Pocophone F1 Armoured Edition on September 15 at the grand opening of their newest store in SM North EDSA Annex." For those who don't know, "the Armoured Edition comes with a DuPont Kevlar aramid fiber backplate."
Anyone know where you can get the armoured edition?
Have had mine for 12 days now love it really fast i have the 6GB/128GB model can't fault as for no NFC so what i don't spend my days transferring data from one handset to another don't need it, i highly recommend this phone
Well the tweet did say the charger in the box is QC3.0. Mi 8 supports QC4.0. In Techtablet's Mi 8 unboxing< @2:23 he says the charger will be QC4.0 and then says maximum 12V 1.5A but that's the same maximum rating as the Poco charger above and the Mi 8 plug shows QC3.0 logo above the right prong<. Qualcolmm has Pocophone under QC3.0 in their list but at the bottom of each page, they say "These devices contain the hardware necessary to achieve Quick Charge_. It is at the device manufacturer’s discretion to fully enable this feature." SD845 is QC4.0 capable< so maybe Pocophone has QC4.0 but wasn't fully enabled? Usually when there's doubt surrounding Xiaomi phones it's because they release a new version which no-one else is aware and no official source can confirm. But this is a new one. An official source stating a feature which no other official source can confirm (skeptical)
Yep as indicated it is the Explorer without transparent back. A bit disappointed with the Mi 8 lite (youth) looks like no band 20 and no NFC and snap 660 not 710, pricing is good though the 4GB/64GB comes in at about £156 the 6GB/64GB at around £190 and the 6GB/128GB at around £223
I agree with notches but isn't the mi mix 2s an LCD screen?
Heat added great price but I hate notches so I went for the mi MIX 2s! In my opinion the true flagship!
I've got one of these and the battery may not be 4,000mAh but it's really good. I get ~7 hours of SoT.
Mi 8 looks nice with the notch, which is a new thing with iPhone X... Thanks OP
It's really quick to recharge, well under an hour. Not sure of the exact length of time but it has a fast charger.
That's a shame, as it looks excellent value for money. How long does it take for a full charge?
It's not the best. This isn't a phone that will hold charge all day long in my experience. If you can cope with around 4.5~5 hours of screen time per day, you'll probably be OK. But I'd say you should expect to put it on charge half way through the day.
That bugs me as well but you get an adapter for 3.5mm input and you can always use Bluetooth. I also have a set of cheap USB-C earbuds
When I bought this phone last year for £80 there was really nothing that came close to it for the price. It's the one and only China phone that actually lived up to the specs.
Its not really to my advantage as I actually prefer black
Xiaomi have opened quite a few official Mi stores in various European countries. France (Paris) Mi Store<, Italy (Milan)<, Spain (Madrid)<. They appear to have 5 stores in Spain. 4 in Madrid< and 1 in Barcelona<.
Use it for your advantage. Let people buy black you buy different colour whateber is the cheapest
XIAOMI and other flagship chinese phones are also sold in the EU and US.
Coz the power bank has an LCD....
? what are you talking about resolution?
So around the same resolution as the iPhone XR?
video review of same product different packagng
so that's what that is, thanks you won't be able to get wireless charging while on the stand though, from the description no wireless charger will be able to do that, not bad feature though
Not sure it's from the UK with estimated delivery 25th September. Good price though. 👌
Yeah i watch chigztech myself. Noticed that he hasn't reviewed this one as yet. Been trying to confirm if this will run Netflix in 4K but no confirmation as yet. Why do Netflix have to make it so hard to get certification. I'm sure if they made more devices able to do there service in 4K it would increase there customer base which obviously would be great for them and the consumer :/
Chigz tech reviews on youtube is a good for android box and smartphone reviews. He has a chart of loads of boxes he has tested which tells you if they can play youtube or netflix in 4k. http://chigztech.com
Setting Android to zero background apps, running Kodi you still have 600MB free. Whatever, these are still slow running boxes designed for media streaming and consumption.
does anyone have this or a similar android tv (as opposed to normal android) widevine box that does netflix and amazon properly in 4K? i'm looking for a second box that's cheaper than my sheild
How is the camera and sound quality on this in poor light, ie gigs? The one side that let's my note 3 pro down
Better processor and greater efficiency, reducing the capacity of the battery would make the handset smaller and less heavy hence better user experience. Despite being the smaller of the two, A2 lite is actually heavier and thicker than its big brother A2 (lol)
Yeah I went from the A2 lite to A2 without looking at the battery spec which was stupid. Better camera and that but in a way it seems stupid that they put the lower powered battery in there unless you get power savings from the better processor?
Not sure about what the battery life is like on the pixel, but a2 should be able to offer 8hrs+ of screen on time comfortably for general tasks like browsing, social media etc. A2 lite with a bigger battery would deliver 10hrs+. Both aren't flagship CPUs obviously
5 weeks, was in the uk in 7 days, but customs held onto it for an age, no dount because they are ridiculoulsy ineffecient.
Mine says shipping from the UK with 5-7 days delivery. I guess we will just have to see.
Yeah me too, but they are still messaging me saying its not in UK Stock and will take 30/60 days from China?
Strangely I have today received a shipping confirmation.
Oh okay, thanks for letting me know!
Yes I had one of these. Looks like it was a bait deal to get you to visit their site.
Get a cocktail stick and use it to scrape the gunk off the metal contacts on the watch. Worked for me. Let me know how you get on.
Mine stopped charging after 10 months. The contact points on the watch appeared to have worn down and new chargers etc couldn't fix it.....loved it too.....no point on sending it back to Gearbest after reading their reviews...
great watch for the price... I've got one, love it.
Weird, once I'd logged in to AliExpress the price dropped to £67.03. Still not £63.15, however.
Boom it certainly was which makes this a terrific deal! Hot....
Shame because it was the exquisite* that sold for me
The excuisite box sold it to me.
Amazing specs for £26! On paper anyway. I wonder if it works as intended. Collision avoidance would be a must have for amateurs
I think they have a mode that can follow you allowing for selfies
Why "Selfie" drone? :/
I haven't said that others shouldn't order, just that I wouldn't buy from or recommend sellers with under 1000 myself. If people want to go for it, that's fair enough but personally I wouldn't.
The seller will never get to 1000+ orders if everyone is as cautious as you.
I don't use PayPal on AliExpress, usually costs extra with nothing to gain. I use Google Pay or my bank cards, if the seller doesn't send goods I could just claim under AliExpress' guarantee and get the money back as it's held in escrow.
The new customer discount needs 15£ minimum spend?
This is why you always pay with PayPal lol. I got burnt only last month, and that was from a reputable seller. It's hit or miss with any of these people. It's just with China it takes longer to find out if you've been screwed or not.
How does this compare to the Honor Band 4
This deal is the same price for the Chinese version, but it's advertised as tariff-free so I assume the seller marks as gift here.
I've ended up purchasing 2 bands through MI Zealer store as you can pay with PayPal and have the delivery marked as a gift, hopefully avoiding the import tax stuff. Only a few quid more (y) 🏼
You should have contacted AliExpress support and they would have probably reissued the voucher.
Tried getting this the last time it was on offer and you could get a voucher for being a first purchase. Anyway I used the voucher on the band and paid via CC and logged in the next day to tell me I needed to pay which I thought was odd. So I went back and pressed the pay button only to find that they were now charging the full price and the voucher disappeared because I had technically used it.
How do i attach screenshot to this?
Still not getting choice of free postage-loads of other options mind you.annoying cos i want to order two pairs
I have these, they're great. Sound space is great and if you have a decent audio chipset and equaliser in your phone you can get some good thump out of them
Have bought these before. The sound isn't too great on these but if you need something as a spare set for the gym or hiking then get these.
They say life begins at 40 so that makes you 5. Nope your fine.
Cracked my £20 blackview the other day, still fine but not long before I drop again and it's gone. Looking for a cheap upgrade, don't want my phone to be too large though
Just 2 things for me to add. Like others have said its likely you will get hit by customs charges....mine was £12. Secondly i HATED the MIUI operating system and had to get rid as soon as i was able to. Installed Mokee and i love it. The phone itself on either ROM is super fast.
If it helps anyone who is wondering and feels a bit intimidated as I did once, I bought the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus from AliExpress a few weeks ago for ~£105 and have been extremely impressed with it. It was the first thing I'd bought direct from China and I am a total non-expert on phones and don't understand more than half the technical stuff people talk about on these threads but the phone was great. I did install a different launcher, which is about as technical as I can get, this helped with the interface, but the standard MIUI one is actually fine, it's very similar to the Apple IOS interface, I just preferred the traditional Android look/feel. Unfortunately I got the phone wet in my coat pocket in a rainstorm and it's dead now, but I will definitely replace it with another, or maybe treat myself to the Redmi Note 5. It came within two weeks, I did get charged customs, but it wasn't a lot of money. Something like £15, paid at the post office on collection, which still makes these incredible value phones compared to premium brands and the build quality and performance of them is stunning. I've never had a top end phone before, but I certainly felt like I owned one with this thing.
thought xiaomi was a decent manufacturer but now not so sure. if you get an Ok one then you're fine. my note 4 touch sensor has gone intermittently faulty after 2 months of hardly any use and will not detect s, z and menu key. you've got no warranty with these Chinese phones and even if you did the cost to send back is prohibitive so I'd say think carefully before you buy.
Always check what the seller says in the description, whether the title says global version or not, the description will more often than not tell you if its the Chinese flashed global rom, or if it is indeed the global version.
Display Resolution 540*1132 is an... Interesting resolution for a screen.
No that's not Xiaomi they're doing regular updates. Got August security patch on my Redmi Note 5 2018. You should check if gh
16gb!!! 32gb minimum should be the standard.
Good price but for a bit more I'd get a Xiaomi. Typing this on my Xiaomi Redmi 3s that's almost 2 years old and still going strong. Only problem with Xiaomi is lack of Android uodates. So my phone is stuck on Marshmallow with security patch from Jan 2017 yet has MIUI 9 as they do update their 'skin' regularly.
It's embarrassing how this is hot
I bought one of these tablets a couple of weeks back. Unbelievable value for money. I bought the 4GB/64GB version from eGlobal (which you can now get for £163). Its quicker than my LG G6, battery life is brilliant, im averaging around 10+ hours from a single charge. Ive been using it for social media apps, ebay, youtube, web browsing (chrome) and running emulators, it breezes through all of this stuff with ease, its really quick. If your on the fence just buy it, you wont be disapointed.
Voted hot, excellent price for the spec. I have had a Xiaomi Mi Max 2 for a while on a Chinese rom with no problems with Google apps installed. Easy to setup it is simple as uninstalling chinese apps and running the google installer (link below). Takes only a few minutes literally and you will have play store etc. xiaomifirmware.com/downloads/download-google-installer-apk-miui-android/
Thanks. sounds like a bit of manual setup needed. Hopfully they release an international ROM soon.
Huawei MediaPad M5 10 (Pro) looks good, but why there is no trust for this China gadgets... (skeptical)
I think I got it from Gearbest rather than eglobal and it didn't have GAPPS installed but it was relatively easy to put them on. Instructions, and file to download are here. Took a bit of twiddling to get everything syncing properly - the contacts was the most irritating - but other than that it's been plain sailing. Have sideloaded Netflix and it works with the Sky Sports Live TV app too.
With a waterproof case, yes.
Can it be used underwater with a case?
Not exactly, YI does sell more that have featured similar to a go pro, but they are more pricey.
Is this like go pro ?
Bought it today anyway, glad I held off :)
Hey OP, Great find, have some heat. Cheers :)
Guys do you recommend this phone to replace a one plus 3t? Would it be faster/better spec? thanks
If it follows the previous trend, they'll release a RN6 which will come with Oreo and later get Pie update whereas RN5 will stay on Oreo.
Will this get an Android Pie upgrade or is Oreo as far as the RN5 can hope for? Jury appears to be out as Xiaomi don't usually do 2 upgrades per model and the RN5 originally came out with Nougat with the recent Oreo upgrade, though to be honest if you use MIUI then you won't notice any difference with any version of Android.
I got the Nillkin tempered glass screen protector and the Nillkin case from GearBest, brilliant.
