One issue I have with mine is if batteries are 100% depleted it won't charge them - red light flashes to show as faulty. Returned 2 packs of batteries to Amazon because I thought some were faulty.

Then tried charging them in an older charger for an hour and switching them to the Amazon charger and it worked.

Do this tell u when the batteries are fully charged? I got an older one and it doesn't tell you when the batteries are fully charged

The restriction on only charging cells in pairs is quite a big one in practice, as there are many devices which use a triplet of cells.

I've had good performance from the Ansmann Comfort Smart charger (3cmls.co/UK/…6DT shows it is often priced similarly to or less than this Amazon Basics charger) which can charges 1-4 cells individually, and despite being a smart charger has also worked on depleted cells that other chargers refused to charge.

The only drawback is that it doesn't include a mains adaptor (it's powered via a microUSB port, a type A to microUSB cable is supplied) so you have to provide your own - mobile phone chargers that put out 5V on a type A USB port work fine, and ones that can do 2.1A can fast charge 4 AA cells simultaneously.
