I've been swept up with the idea of 5800x3d and then i remember twice the cores, used 5950x for a little more. I am a gamer through and through but a modified 5800x that performs worse in some games or a beast 105W processor i dreamed of owning 2 years ago is a no brainer for me.

The 5950X is almost no different in gaming to the 5800X, sometimes worse. The 5800X3D in some of its more effective gains absolutely trounces even the 13900K.

Unfortunately the Amazon algorithm realised on all the clicks and put the price up . Stop clicking it's not an offer just inflated prices these will be sub £300 I think soon.

Replaced my 3900X with this a couple of days ago. Mainly for MSFS.
At big airports I was getting low 20s FPS with the 3900X. Now I'm getting about 30 FPS.

Been quite a bit cheaper the last few days plus you get free copy of company of heroes with other sellers and I don't think you do with Amazon

Looking at the 7800X3D, it's going to be 20 percent max faster than this.... Not really much to care about unless you have a 4090, at which point buy a 13900KS as it'll be much better.

7800x3d will likely beat the 13900ks in gaming

Not sure about the pricing change but it was fluctuating yesterday. I posted it in a group when it went down to £316, but an hour or so later, it went down to £312.

    £332 now, thread needs expiring.

It’s doubled my FPS in MSFS going from a 5800x i suppose it depends what games you play.I have it running with a 6800xt at 4K.

Paid £310 for this yeaterday, before it shot back to £332 > seems to fluctuate quite a bit!

I play sim games [ACC and MSFS2020], so should really help my 3080 with stutters in VR

The new 3d on the corner, it will certainly lower the price of this one by a consistent amount. (edited)
