Great price for this extremely powerful and efficient CPU. Can handle both productivity (code compilation, video encoding, running many VMs, etc.) and gaming. The closest competitor from Intel is i7-13700K, but it consumes a lot more power (and so is harder and more expensive to cool) and doesn't have much of upgrade path after RLR.

To get the maximum performance from this processor combine it with fast memory, e.g. amazon.co.uk/dp/…288 .

The coming Zen5 is a monster, so one needs a very good reason to spend so much on what will soon be a very mediocre 12-core. Most people would be better off with the vastly cheaper 7600, and then feel good by doing an AM5 upgrade next year.

There is always something faster just around the corner. If your always waiting for the next you will always be waiting.

    That's cheap.
Was a little cheaper not long ago, but still much better than elsewhere. (edited)

Somersett, got any links to potential specs of the Zen 5 hardware?

No detailed leaks, but they claim '20% faster'.
Faster in what way, we'll have to find out.

As long as it's not a 20% increase in price all will be well. (edited)

Imo it's better to buy direct from Amazon for £369 and get the free copy of Starfield standard edition. (edited)
