Is the m1 chip better than this?

Well usually look at the specs of the laptop m2 unbinned/not binned is 12c CPU/ 19c GPU
    M1 is 10c CPU/ 16c GPU.

Binned(less better one) is 2 cpu performance cores less I think which is the base pro models of each m1/m2 models. Don’t have a clue how many less GPU ones.

These (unbinned) to me are the best value performance while preserving battery times between all 14 macs. Not talking about 16” though. On 16 would not even want to think to get the binned ones …at least for the type of work I do. I can’t quite care anyway because 16” for me is clumsy to carry …

Usually they seemed to come default unbinned on the 1tb storage versions and those are the pros on m2 with 2 ssd chips that max out the bandwidth( I think).

Also they are the closest if not identical in terms if cpu cores and type(efficiency vs performance) compared to max versions. On max seems that number of gpus is much higher for m1/m2.

M3 is better differentiated and loads more complex in combinations for storage, ram, size …

    M2 unbinned

Have no pictures for the binned ones sorry since I don’t own any but a google/ebay search will yeald your results.

I think the unbinned 14 inches are the 1st to come with a 96w fast charger…

    Hope it helps

Ps. Tempted to return the m2 now to currys:-) . i just realized while typing the post there is not that much of difference on my m1 vs m2 (edited)

Being a bit special and realised that this offer will come in effect from Monday 15th LOL. However the 16" comes down with the auto £300 off...to £1899 for anyone looking at that

Goodish deal. There's clearly a lot of unsold M2 MacBook pro stock sitting in warehouses somewhere because Costco sold out of this when it was £1899.

That's when I bought the 512gb 14 inch for £1499 to replace my 2013 pro. Very happy with it.

Yes the recent Currys deal was cheaper if you went on the goose chase and quoted product codes got lucky and had no idea what you'd actually pay.

The Costco deal is a couple of clicks a courier brings it to your door and they throw in a 2 year warranty and 90 day no quibble returns on top. If you're after a 14 inch 1TB pro this is currently a better deal than buying an M3.

Damn, might be my time to bite the bullet and buy. Good deal OP

Bought this exact same laptop from currys a few weeks ago for £1,435.00 so it's not a great deal

How do you get next months booklet early?

I've been waiting for Costco to reduce the 1 TB model for months but now it's finally happened, it's £270 more than it was in Curry's a few weeks ago and, even though those are all gone, this doesn't seem great value.

What are people actually using these for?

    Any other M2 Pro deals?

Got one of these during the Currys madness rush. Still in the box, debating if I should open it or return it.

Have the 16in M1 Pro, not sure if it's a significant improvement

Same here. M1 pro 14 inch owner (unbinned). Which color version did you get and where from?

I wonder if that £2300 14 inch with 32GB RAM and M2 Max will get any more reductions?

I am thinking of purchasing this or should I wait until it goes down (if it does)?
