Its a great deal but unlike all other manufacturers Apple have soldiered the SSD to the board and link the Bios via the SSD so quess what ? If the SSD fails and they frequently do- see Louis Rossman youtube-mine did on a moderately used 28 month old £1800 Macbook pro last month, they will not boot up and they are essentially non-repairable.So my advice is to anyone buying one is you have to purchase Applecare on an ongoing basis at the current cost of £99 per year and a one of cost of £229 to replace your brillant but highly fragile macbook pro.

YUP-exactly this! I don`t know why more people either do not know, or do not care about it.. Cool, if you have so much money you can afford a new laptop every couple years.. Not sure how the 6 year UK thingy regarding proving that a device failed because of manufacturing issue or quality comes in play here..
Either way, I am holding off any proper, or major purchase for a couple of years. Until then I think the EU will push through some more of right to repair rules and laws, and this crap with SSD and RAM soldering will be a thing of past only.. Plus, 2nm performance will be something worth cashing out for..
Got myself a i7 9th gen Windoze lappy to see me through.. Plenty of performance for just under 500 quid..
and regarding buying Applecare, simply no.. It is rip off. People should get theirs money worth..

I think the model you linked to is selling for £1,899.99
it is a lovely machine, although some will find it too heavy for their needs, at over 2Kg.
    lovely screen though

Tbf I’m just about to buy the 1tb version over the 512gb I think (I might be wrong) that the 1tb hard drive has quicker read/write speeds.

This is one I got for £1503 in Currys last week - they’re still out there.

They had this exact model on sale for £1559 (yes, at Costco [-£480]). I would just hold off, and they will decrease more later. Unless for some strange reason they sell out this time for a higher price lmao52524632-LfISc.jpg
