sorted byI use my NAS either locally or remotely. Doing so is just changing the transport, not the codec. If I play a FLAC from my NAS on my phone in the toilets at KFC, the quality would be the same as sitting at home with a USB flash drive with the same FLAC inserted into my phone via OTG. If I want to play something on my HiFi, I load up BubbleUPnP, connect, browse my NAS library and fire away.
I can't think of any other Roon endpoint & amp at anything like this price point, so a great deal for those looking for a low-cost Roon ready system. (edited)
You buy this for sound quality, and not bluetooth.
They are also based in the UK just north of Cambridge. (edited)
Have a look at "q acoustics" bookshelf speakers might be a decent match.
