Product specifications:

The GEL-SONOMA 7 GTX shoe is designed for the great outdoors. It's formed with a GORE-TEX membrane that helps keep your feet warm and dry when you're running in great conditions.

Underfoot comfort stems from a full-length AMPLIFOAM midsole and GEL technology unit that's strategically placed where cushioning is needed.

Lastly, the trail-specific outsole is functional for providing advanced traction. Its pattern helps you experience a confident stride on the uphill and downhill sections of challenging terrain.

  • GORE-TEX membrane for warmth and dryness

  • Suitable for trail running

  • Colour: Black/Ink Teal

had two pairs of these which both let water in so returned them, got Adidas as a replacement and they also let water in as well and all I do is walk on grass whilst walking the dogs

I wonder if it is the general pursuit of profit over quality as I have had similar experience with ASICS, Adidas and Reebok Gore-Tex trainers that have previously been great (say, 10 years ago). However, over the last 2 years, I have had trainers from all 3 brands (including this model here, but there version 6) that have failed within months to keep water out when walking the dog, like you. Managed to send 2 pairs back for full refunds. (edited)

Had these, not even close to being waterproof, awful trainers backed up by an even worse customer service …… Cue the Arse aches (Asics) fan club!!!!! (edited)

Are these decent for someone that suffers from ankle sprains - Underpronation / Supination?

All for a bargain but injuries are no joke (currently house buond after leg surgery)

Really comfy running trail shoes, but they wear down stupidly quickly. My wore down in a couple of months, the next pair also wore down in a couple of months so i dont buy these any more.

Trail shoes have softer soles, so if you're going to do any running on tarmac they'll wear down rapidly.

Are these any good for running on the road?

I don't think so. Not much cushion or bounce. You should look for proper running shoes.
