This has been posted back in July but price has dropped by £30. I'm looking for a Chromebook for my mum - is this a good deal?

Not unreasonable for a brand new 14 inch convertible with a decent amount of update life left. If you'd consider a Grade A refurb I think you can do better. For example, an Acer Spin 314 (so also 14 inch, convertible), with the Pentium Silver N6000 (rather than Celeron N4500) and double the storage at 128GB for £30 less - ebay.co.uk/itm…110 Will also see updates to June 2030.

There's also an Excellent Refurb convertible 14 inch HP x360 14B with the Pentium Silver N6000 for £170 after the 15% voucher code is used. That one has the same 64GB storage, 4GB RAM and again updates until June 2030 - ebay.co.uk/itm…043

If you don't need it to be convertible and/or touch there will be more options too. (edited)

Thanks for these suggestions, both machines look really nice. Do you know how they would compare against the Snapdragon7c (Lenovo Duet 5 or Acer Spin 513). I'm trying look up comparisons between Jasper Lake N6000 Vs Sd7c but not much coming up. The snapdragon machines are generally more expensive on refurb so would that mean their better? (edited)

when you tilt the screen past a certain point the keyboard must stop tasking input or it would be a disaster. Any user of such a device who oculd comment ?

I had the OG Asus flip and the 2nd gen pixelbook and both machines recognised you've gone from laptop to tablet mode and only touch input is useable.

It has updates till June 2030 so it not a bad deal, some people compare this with windows laptops which is why they have voted it cold. If you need a simple to use machine to surf the internet boot in 20 seconds and has a touch screen it's a canny deal.

    Yeah, would pretty much agree

For me, it's more helpful seeing this as a "better tablet", rather than a "better laptop"
