    This phone ticks all the things I might need in a phone but it's not clear what kind of software update and warranty support Asus commits to. Currently on mighty OnePlus 6T which is still running strong but sadly doesn't support 5G and software/security updates have stopped since a while.
    UI/UX on Asus phones is apparently not noteworthy as I hear.
    Does anyone has actual experience that they may want to share?

    My 7T ran out in December, stuck LineageOS on and I get monthly updates, quite straight forward to do if updates is something that bothers you.

    Not even Snapdragon 8 Gen 2?
    I have Gen 2 on the Tab S9 and FPS is higher than Gen 1+

    Well not 8 Gen 2 on a phone released before the 8 Gen 2 was released, no. Go for the ROG 7 for that, and pay £400 more

    Nice phone. Especially if you like gaming. But I feel tablets are the ideal size for gaming

    Well, personally I think a 60” TV is the ideal size for gaming but like tablets, a phone is what you usually always have with you. Tablets are good for point and click gaming but personally holding an 11” iPad for gaming feels too cumbersome.
