About this deal

  • Answer your door, no matter where you are, from your smartphone with 1080p HD day and infrared night video, and two-way audio.
  • Experience long-lasting battery life, customised alerts, privacy settings and more.
  • Get alerts when motion is detected or someone presses Blink Video Doorbell. Connect to existing doorbell wiring or pair with a Sync Module (sold separately) to engage live view and two-way audio on demand.
  • Choose to save and share clips in the cloud with a free 30-day trial of the Blink Subscription Plan or locally with the Sync Module 2 and USB drive (each sold separately).
  • Designed for every home — Connect to your doorbell wiring to sound existing in-home chime. Alternatively, get alerts on your smartphone, or use Blink Mini 2 (sold separately) as an indoor plug-in chime, without wiring.
  • Set it up yourself within minutes, with the two included AA lithium batteries, and then connect to Wi-Fi using the app. The newly designed internal battery seal provides IP54 weather resistance rating.
  • Works with Alexa — Receive alerts and answer with two-way audio. When paired with a Sync Module (or wired with a compatible in-home chime), just ask Alexa to answer the front door.
  • Includes: a Blink Video Doorbell and mounting kit (including screws and fixings). Does not include a Sync Module 2, which can be found in all “Systems” above (recommended for optimal use while on battery).

The batteries don't last. I've been through three sets, since Christmas

Must be something wrong with it then. I’ve had mine for nearly a year, and not had to replace the battery.

I prefer my doorbell that just dings.

It doesn't need a subscription nor WiFi and it has 8 chimes to choose from - including 'ding' and 'ding dong'.

But can you see the milkman walking off with a skip in his step after he's visited the good lady when you've been on nightshift? Ding dong indeed.

Blink Vs ring. What's the general difference?

Blink allows you to record to USB if you have the Sync.

These are gr8 as long as it’s connected to a strong WiFi signal. I have an extender near mine and it’s amazing.

The only problem is Indoor Chime with these.. you need to have something like Echo to be connected for this all the time.

Love mine but I do find it takes an age to connect to when out and about - even on a 5G network.

It's slow slow loading from USB, I feel like they gimp it on purpose so you buy the close storage which is much faster.

Anyone found a work around to connect these to pre existing battery chime yet? Would need some kind of adapter I believe due to AC v DC

I've removed mine and replaced it with a Reolink wifi doorbell. So long as you are able to either connect it to existing doorbell wiring (or run power to it with the included plug in power adaptor) it works great, and there's a plug in chime in the box.

Recording is to a microsd card installed in the doorbell itself, and I also have it copying the recordings to a separate FTP server I have on a raspberry pi inside the house.

The permanent power means that (unlike the blink) it will record for a few seconds before the event. It's also much quicker to respond, and it will do person detection for free too. Very happy.

You can even have it stream continuously to a NVR server if you want.

The blink was OK, but the lack of prerecording, battery replacement needs and slow notifications annoyed me enough to look for an alternative, and very happy I did! Night time recording quality much better with the reolink also! (edited)

Do you mind sharing the amazon link for the doorbell? And also, how do you setup FTP server?

Argos were doing this with the sync unit and an Alexa pod for £45 a few weeks ago. In my experience you really want an Alexa to ring inside the house and a sync unit to record video so this doesn't seems great deal without them.

Anyone else have trouble with how slow it is to connect upon it being pressed and how bad the 2 way audio is?

It's definitely slower to connect than the Ring doorbell i had, can't say it's any different with audio.

I have one of these and wouldn’t recommend.
